Things that piss you off?

I'm showing my underwear, but it's not dirty. ;)

You also don't post every day moaning over the fact that your Uncle Pete is humping the neighborhood dogs. Your Minister Brother is a closet cross dresser with a drug addiction, your great Aunt Milly substitutes as a preschool teacher and a dominatrix. Your brother William ran away with the family fortune and is living on a beach in pango pango sipping pina coladas while a native girl licks his toes.

Are we seeing the big picture here? People are using this board in lieu of getting professional help.

And as far as your underwear is concerned. If you want to show off more of that stuff you're going to end up making WW jealous. :D

Not at all bobmi....you go girl!

The all-woman panel on an Aussie chat show giving their "feminist" opinion on submissive wives. They were commenting on a forum post by a woman in a Master/slave relationship. "I suppose her name is Jeannie" was one sarcastic comment

Ladies, your ignorance is showing. If you're going to comment on something, please do your research first. It makes you look like a bunch of radical feminists who forget that women have a choice in the way they wish to live, and us submissives do not need you belittling our lifestyle (and it is a lifestyle, albeit not a mainstream one).

I think the word "submissive" gets a bad rap from mainstream feminist women. I know because I used to be one of them. That word raised the hair on the back of my neck whenever I heard it. I think it's because it's often seen as synonymous with subservient.

As my thinking as changed, I see women who choose a submissive lifestyle, particularly a 24/7 lifestyle, as very strong. A Dom/me can't dominate unless he/she is given the gift of submission. And any Dominant who says otherwise is a jackass not worthy of the gift, IMHO.

Inappropriate soapboxing (is that a word?) on threads.
I don't know if it's a word but I like it -- you do come up with some cool ones.

Glad to see you, perhaps not in this particular thread but...

It's not that bad. I think I told you my orthopedic surgeon said that I'm not ready for a knee replacement as long as I could walk into the office. He was joking, but it made sense. I'm not in pain or discomfort 95% of the time. Today was just one of the 5% days, but I'll survive.

How are you faring?

My dad had a new knee put in about 15 years ago and last year replaced it. One of my brothers had both done at the same time (along with a new hip just prior) and is doing great -- we call him the bionic bro. I hope you can keep your original equipment as long as possible.

I'm doing ok, thanks. Some tests I flunk some I pass, at this point I tell them to just take my word for stuff. Somehow they're not buying it. ; )

I'm trying to postpone going under the knife as long as possible.

Yeah, I know all about not taking your word for it. Finally they took my word for my blood pressure. There's no way it could have been that high and I lived. I took in my monitor and had the nurse look at my readings from home, plus I keep track on paper. 112/70 is a lot better than 190/120!

Wow, good for you and smart. One thing I've learned thru all of this is I must advocate for myself or have a loved one help. I got a laundry list of things to do a few months ago and I re-ordered it based on what I know about me! Their expectations would have me at the foot of the cross for goodness sakes, I told them I'm good but not that good.

I have a problem with my blood pressure but on the low side as well as disproportionately drop on rising. I take a med for lowing BP but it's for kidney protection, it can be a challenge to walk and talk with BP 80/50 and you know I love to talk!

Gil is on 3 different blood pressure meds and it's still high :( This morning 170/68. If he takes any more pills he'll rattle.

I have a sister like that.....the problem is she won't lay off the sodium.

My blood pressure is fine at home.

Somewhere I found a list of foods that help in lowering bp. I'll see if I can find it again. I remember two foods on the list that I found suprising were beets and limes. I've been preparing fresh beets weekly since then. I didn't expect to see a dramatic drop, I just wanted to add healthy foods.

My son has always had low blood pressure too. His pediatrian had him eat pickles because I don't like salt, so there was very little added salt. In the army it was still a problem, but they too chose to use diet to get it up.

I hope you are able to get the bp under control Gil & Bandit :rose:

Hiya DGO! :rose:

WPMO? My gladiolus are so top heavy with flowers they are snapping :(

On a positive note, they do make lovely cut flower arrangements.

I love beets -- DGO, do you boil the fresh ones for a long time? I've only had fresh from the garden beets once, yummy.

Hi Bandit, I hope Gil can lower his BP. Does he drink a lot of water by any chance? I've read it can help -- it helps everything actually.

Hi Teasechicky -- they have braces for the glads. But I agree they're very pretty in a vase too.

I roast them

ROASTED BEETS
SERVES 4

INGREDIENTS
• 1-1/2 pounds medium red beets, peeled and quartered
• 3 tablespoons olive oil
• 1 tablespoon minced fresh garlic
• Salt and pepper to taste
Preheat oven to 375° F. Place the beets in a small roasting or baking dish in one layer. Drizzle with the oil. Add the garlic, salt and pepper. Toss to combine. Roast until fork-tender, about 30 minutes. Serve hot or room temperature.

Are you talking about Gladys......she is a bit top heavy, but I didn't know she'd fallen over.

They are sprucing up my table at the moment. I will have to look for the braces, thank you Cate :)

That sounds wonderful, thank you. I'll be having roasted beets tomorrow.

I have used beets to dye things, they're just such a good thing.; )
