things that sound incriminating but aren't...

A well meaning American colleague recently pointed out to me that my fanny was dusty, that means something totally different here in the U.K.

in the UK, "fanny" refers to the front part of a woman, rather than the back.

please share with us....what does it mean?
Slilverwhisper has it on the button, an English girl's fanny is her pussy.... It had been a little while since I had had any attention, but to infer there may be cobwebs was quite personal.

Tiime to get out the feather duster? ;)

I remember reading about an Englishman who was confused about a sign in an Australian boarding house "Please don't stick things to the walls with Durex." :D

Durex was a brand of sticky tape.

Yup, but there are always those nooks you just can't reach on your own.

I had forgotten about that. It's been a while since my nooks have been reached.

People need to be told this?

One of my best friends back in High School was named Estefania, nicknamed Fanny (a pretty common nickname here in Spain). A couple years ago we both went on a student exchange to Cambridge, and when we were having lunch my English hostess sat next to me and I noticed she used the same perfume my friend did, so I said "Hey! You smell like Fanny!" :D

Ok I may have got that somewhat mixed up, let me go edit it.
No you didn't it's a brand of Sellotape, if you use it on paintwork it leaves marks.
