Thread and writer appreciation thread

Yes, there are more than one or two brilliant writers out there. They don't hang around in the Lounge, so you'll never see just how brilliant they are. :)

Or they do and just no one bothers to read their stuff because they're not "popular".

Wow, I have just been complimented and a little insulted in two sentences! Talk about a first for me.

I am sure that there are awesome writers out there. They just need someone to stumble across them and let the rest of us know.

I have a look at this thread whenever something new is posted to see what threads other people have found that have potential. I have been taking time out to read other threads a little more now, as a buffer against getting too worn out by the writing I am doing.

Oh, if I find anything that might interest you, Shy, I will definitely let you know.
*grumbles and slaps her head* I knew you would take some part of that the wrong way, and it wasn't meant to be. All I meant is that for me to go and lose myself in your writing ability would send me running so far away from our story that you would never get a reply. And I kind of figured you wanted a reply post...:p In any case, I appreciate all the help you have been giving me, more than you realise. So thank you Marauder13 *hugs tightly*

Oh Anam Cara, I know full well that there are more, I am on the search for them. But as I don't have the time to sit and read every single SRP story currently in progress, I was asking for some guidance to find them. Sorry if my words came off brute or misleading.

I definitely understand the intimidation factor with several of the writers here Shy. So many are just so talented, it's a little overwhelming at times. I find anything written by Gaia's_Child is usually wonderful. Sallythescorpian is a talented writer who uses shorter but not less wonderful posts if long posts are intimidating.

If I could also pimp an old favorite of mine, written by Luciandevine and Ladythunder, called An Auction From Hell. It was the first one I really read when I started coming here, and I can still go back and reread it and find it enjoyable.

If you want to totally avoid intimidating posts or talented writers I'm sure you could always dredge through what I've written as well :D

God, I swore I wouldn't say anything self depricating or reference my work. Oh well, I'm still a work in progress I suppose.

Edited for linkage.
If I could Rider, I would give you a little smack for that :p. I would never dredge through your work! You have no idea how excited I am for Dark Temptation to kick off again so that I can write with you! You are still interested in being a turned vampy, right? *fingers crossed* In any case, if you stepped back and looked at the quality of co-writers you attract, then you would see how great your words are. Great writers like Gaia's_Child or Sally wouldn't waste their time on half-arsed writers. So, you must give yourself some credit. If not, I will continue to do so until you hear my words :D In any case, I will have a look at that story, thank you for recommending it. *hugs gently*

Or they do and just no one bothers to read their stuff because they're not "popular".
That is exactly what I mean Ahren, thank you. Popularity tends to win in threads like these, and while it doesn't diminish the talent of the popular writers, it can do so for the quieter ones. And it is those quieter ones I am in search for. Not only that, people who wish to start out look at threads like these and think 'my god, I need to write like that to be any good'...and that simply isn't the case. That was all I was trying to say.

Sorry Veroe for getting too carried away...sorry *whimpers shyly and scurries away back into the shadows*

Marauder to be fair to Shy you are fairly intimidating in how awesome you are. You can take that as compliment or insult or both btw :D

Rider I can't agree with you more on Auction, though it may be because I'm a huge hopeless fanboy of LT and Lucian. ;)

Ahren if you feel that way about the unread writers go find them and tell us what fools we are for overlooking them.

Anam Cara whether it be for writers who frequent here in the lounge or not is irrelevent. They deserve props so give them some props here regardless of whether they'll see it or not.

Shy I try to find the quiet ones, the ones that are overlooked, I do. But the problem is its being judged by my standards of good writing or what is hot or the type of threads that I like to read. I need others with differing standards to make it fair for everyone here afterall if I say Marauder for example is awesome there might be someone somewhere who just doesn't see his self-evident awesomeness (as unlikely as that occurence may be).

P.S. DO NOT MISUNDERSTAND MY STATEMENT ABOVE. THIS IS NOT A THREAD TO SAY A WRITER IS OVERRATED!

Hmmmm...very true. But your standards are great anyway, so I see no problem there. But there are MANY stories and you are only one man. Hmmm...*ponders briefly*...you should start a book club...:p

Also, I am sorry if what I said came across as a personal attack. It wasn't, far from it. I love your work, and your opinions mean a lot as a writer...why do you think I suggested to Wolf Vixen for you to join Dark Temptation? *smiles shyly*

LOL, a book club would be a whole other lounge thread Shy.

Check the last page of my idea box for my reading list. Closest thing I have right now.

No one mentioned Chasnicollette, which is pretty much a crime, or Tearsoftheworld, or Lady Reiha. These are people that have been around a while. Ignored to bring up the same names a dozen times.

You're absolutely right Ahren, though I haven't read Chasnicollette yet Tears and Reiha are both exceptional. Shame on me for letting them slip my mind.

I agree serious oversights on those three.

but oversights we can easily rectify. Ahren you find a thread of Chasnicollete, I'll find one for Reiha, Rider you take Tears-of-the-World. On 3.

Perhaps I need to put sarcasm tags around my text at times. I am well aware of what she meant with the entire reference to me, and I interpreted it in the manner she delivered it. My reply, when taken literally, would indicate otherwise.

If I have cause any offence with the manner of my reply, I am sorry.

To be honest, I still find it hard to believe that my writing is intimidating to some people. Well, I have learned something new. :)

No offense caused here. But sometimes I get worried that I offend people, so my words were more clarification for others. I'm sorry Marauder. But since I am blonde and completely clueless, that sign might come in handy. The one below is perfect! :)

*hugs Marauder tightly before dashing off back to the real world*

EDIT: And thank you for those names guys. I will be looking into them when I have some free time. :)

Chas is an unbelievable writer, one I had the luck of writing with far-too-briefly
She made me run doubletime

I am reading The Language of Angels by Vixandra and Vail.

I friggin LOVE this thread and I was mega happy to see Vixy back so that they could get to work on what is promising to be one of my favorite stories here....

So this is a thread where we appreciate threads and writers? I should read more threads.

I dunno, is it? I mean the thread title is pretty vague, I know.

Personally, I always thought it was a place to share cake recipes. I've never understood what you all were going on about.

My recipe for PANcakes: Pancake Mix. Water. Chocolate syrup.

1. I'm coming over
2. On Food Network's The Best Thing I Ever Ate...Cake Edition, Alton Brown chose pancakes as his 'cake'.
3. Extra chocolate syrup please.

My pancakes kick ass'ums.
Especially when I do french cakes.
Pancakes made into French toast.
WRAP YOH HEAD AROUND THAT ONE!!

Sallyscorpian and Last_rider in their old rp The Cruise.

Oh, hey! Just spotted this now!

Thank you very much!! Last Rider is an absolutely awesome RP partner - highly recommended to anyone who hasn't had the pleasure of writing with him! :D

We had a lot of fun with that!
