Thread and writer appreciation thread

Sincerest thanks for your comment Princess, always nice to know someone is actually reading :D

The Vassal Academy.

I have decided to break with protocol.

Veroe doesn’t like to sing the praises of the threads he is in and I find these writer appreciation threads to be a tad embarrassing. If I enjoy a thread I say so in a face to face pm to the author, I personally prefer it that way. There are so many brilliant writers on Lit that I haven’t even met, overlooked because they do not frequent the lounges, or my case because my Lit reading list is shockingly short due to real life commitments and my own time consuming threads.

Today is 18 months since we began writing The Vassal Academy. When I started this endeavor I wanted to write with the best I could find, yes I was intimidated by a lot of the writers but knew if I wrote with them it would helping to improve my own fledgling writing. Dominance was my first writing endeavor and Vassal was my second.

Why am I writing this? Whether Vassal is a good group thread is of course very subjective; for me it is my baby it is simply a labor of love.

I am writing here to honor my fellow writers. :rose:

I can honestly say this thread has an ensemble cast of exceptional writers and that I am incredibly fortunate that they all said yes when I asked them to join. For the most part we have worked seamlessly as a well oiled team even when one had to leave he/she was replaced seamlessly.

I would also like to thank them for their unfailing loyalty and support. Last year I battled cancer again and they were with me every step of the way…not one of them jumped ship.

My love and thanks to the remaining cast members many of whom have become trusted friends;

Tio_Narratore, Dark Empress, Veroe, Scarletnym, Chgris, Sweetp4u, MsAphrodite, Light_Rider, Fira, and Lucien Devine.

My health is much improved and our story has began to move forward again I couldn’t be happier. I hope that those of you who do follow the lives of those who reside in the Academy continue to enjoy our thread as much as we who write for the unique characters do. :rose:

Lastly, I would like to say that those who wrote briefly with us and had to leave also left a significant impact on our collective story, they were of course replaced but never completely forgotten, I will not mention names you know who you are...

Thank you so much, Yeishia. You're dedication to Vassal Academy is an inspiration to me.

EDIT: As for not putting a thread up here with cowriters. That's not expected of anyone else here. It's just my own personal policy, broken once much to my instant regret for the disservice done to my other co-writers. This is because I personally feel nominating a thread I'm participant in is too close to self-aggrandizement for me.

Such a big word Veroe *giggles hugging you close* :rose::heart:

I did not nominate the thread, but the writers in it. For their exceptional writing in general...I was very very careful. :rose:

It was a birthday of sorts 18 months :)

When you nominate a thread then of course people feel obliged to return the favor, it becomes a love fest.....

I never alluded to my writing being good in Vassal ;)

Hm, then allow me to correct that yeishia, you're an incredibly talented writer.

Sorry for shortness in text, but Im on my phone, and texting isnt my thing.

Ive read The Hunt with Tiemetightly and Marauder13, and loved loved it. Sorry cant do links on phone, but anyone that has the time to read, do. Its a superb story, and M does one cold but very sexy vampire. Well done both of you.
:rose:

I’ve been reading this one recently and I think both writers deserve a shout out :) I currently have the pleasure of working with the both of them and they work really well together!

Slut Finishing School

Twilight10 and Smiley8022
:D

A Firm Hand by Saedo and Little Love. I think this story sucks you in from the start.

Thank you so much. The lion's share of the credit goes to littlelove. She introduced me to a new area of SRP that I am enjoying tremendously. I find her work ups my own game, plus I just adore her writing. :)

Unmissable!!

You simply MUST read An Unpaid Debt by Wideeyedone and Cgraven.

I personally love this type of Georgian / Victorian / Regency era setting, but notwithstanding my own bias, I thing this is a brilliantly written tale of the loss of innocence, by two gifted writers whose styles meld together seamlessly.

thanks, sally. i have really enjoyed the thread.

I love this thread...

It's a great way to let other people know that we want them to continue with their exceptional writing. And...yes it helps when you see someone enjoys your own. Thanks for the kudos :)

I wanted to add a few myself...although I will probably miss a lot.

Chgris, yes he's my Master, but I love the tales he spins. His dedication to detail makes me strive to write better.

LT, VT and Luna are a few the most amazing female writers I've read and had the pleasure to do a few scenes with. Scorching.

Tio, Rider, Zom Dom, Veroe. I love their work as well. The detail is wonderful and they are so committed.

There are many others...Yeishia, Niri, Raven...I can't seem to get enough of them.

Thanks for letting me add

~Scarlet

His by Hannah18 and Txnstud21. This is about a young sheltered innocent 18 yr old rich girl and the rough dominant maintenance man that seduces and teaches her of sex. It's a simple tale told very well by these two good writers. Coudos guys.

Taken as tribute By Wideeyedone and the Anti-rebel and then the Grind. Its about a princess that's captured by marauding barbarians and given to their prince as tribute. A tale done well with deft skill. I liked the transition from the Anti-rebel to the Grind taking up the part of Barton smooth with little in the way of bumps in characterization.

Amazing, complex psychological premise and so far deep character development, sharp dialogue, the whole package...

The Retrosexual, by fuckmeat & SoulWeaver.

Exodus 21: 24 by Sallythescorpion and the PG. About a bad boy and the preacher's daughter he seduces and debauches. I've known PG as a good RPer in some of the other threads of his I've read, but his role as Tommy in this was a real eye-opener for me. He's great in this, Coudos PG, and Sally what can be said about her here that I haven't said before in some of the other threads of hers I've put here. Well, find out for yourselves folks. Click on the link and see how good these two are in this right now.
