Aka-Jacka
:D

That'd be the hovercraft company's top brand. Stick some chaw in your cheek, climb on the Aka-Jacka, and just float around on air bubbles... or flying bubble wrap carpets. Yeah.

Once in a while I wonder what it'd be like to change my name. Jack would be in the top choices. Jack something. Or that. Yeah: Jack Something.

It sounds classically American to me.

Hi. Jack Something. Darn glad to meet you. Hows about some ganja chaw?:) Take a spin on the ol' akajacka.

akajackas sound a little Star Wars. Or was that ack-acks? Weren't there ack-acks in Star Wars?

Ok I am really going to pack dishes now. Happy acking.

Won't say. Didn't really get caught by the Star Wars bug back in the day. Any similarities between my akajackas and a Star Wars akajacka is entirely coincidental, and that's the fact Jack. Wow. Packin and jackin... it's going around. It's sure a sweet swell day for a feller to go out a'ackin.

What I was going to say when I first walked in on the ladies, er uh erm, talking, was that I'm all for alternative energies, except I really love the smell of gasoline, and it would be a tough adjustment to live in a world without the smell of gasoline, somewhere; but I can also see wind stations. That'd be cool. "Uh, fill 'er up with hi-test kansas tornado, and check the moutain breeze gauge too." If it came with some kind of synthetic gasoline fumes... that'd be swell.

I could live in a world without gasoline fumes. For as far back as I can remember I've recoiled from the smell of volatiles. My nose tells my brain - this isn't healthy - avoid it. I'm probably not a typical American male - cars are just for getting from point A to point B; don't like oil or grease, do like dirt and plants and cooking. And probably more romantic than most when it comes to the opposite sex.

Ack-Ack - I'm familiar with that as anit-aircraft guns of WW2. Also a control character - ACK (0x06) paired with NAK (0x15); for acknowledge or not.

yesterday, and today, the skies are so rich and deep and heart-breakingly blue ... i keep stopping to look up at them, people must think i'm nuts though i pretend it's the shopping bags i'm laying down for minutes in order to rest my hands as i rest my eyes, my mind, on this wonderful wonderful sight ... blue going on forever, the odd gauzy wisp of cloud ... not a single glint of plane or wisp of contrail, no low humdrumbling throb that builds, grows nearly to the point of discomfort then grumbles on ... sigh

it's like planes never existed.
it's

some kinda beautiful

"humdrumbling throb" sounds wonderful and wonderfully dirty, to my mind. :D

Today is grayish and unremarkable in Maine. Too bad because we get blue brilliant days here where everything is so crisp and clear it feels quite ethereal. I always tell eagleyez the sky looks trompe l'oile (sp?) to me because it's too perfect: robin's egg blue with perfectly fluffly little clouds here and there. But it's mud season (our lovely fifth season lol) here when the hard frost thaws before things can bud and spring can start. I wish I could have one crisp New England day before we leave next week, but I doubt we will. I'll have to watch Cider House Rules to see it again.

Otoh it's in the 70s in western NC now. E-dub packed all his shorts in his duffel bag that's traveling with us. Yay, Spring!

Yes, its getting warm down south now. Yesterday we got close to 80. Today a cold front swung thru with lots of rain (which we need) and in the low 70's. Probably won't see many more fronts for a while. It may be too wet for us to finish the yard work we started yesterday.

Our region is in a drought. The lack of rain doesn't change the quality of the blue directly overhead but it does bring spectacular light shows at dawn and dusk due to the dust and smoke in the air. The annual air exercise that we're world famous for hosting around here will mean that forest fires are going to be started as explosives ignite the too-dry tinder of the bush.

<sigh> I wish it would rain... It cleans the air and I don't need to wash my little car free of dust once the mud floods away.

The hot sunny spell continues was so hot today that it was bikini weather if you happen to be bikini shaped which I'm not. Oh and today I saw a wallaby in a field which really isn't that remarkable in these parts as the road runs past the back of Whipsnade Zoo where the wallabies have more or less free range amongst the rolling downs *don't know why they are called downs when they are obviously ups (hills)* sometimes you see Bison too. Oh give me a home where the buffalo (and wallabies) roam ........

If I come to visit you, will you take me to the zoo? On our last drive south, I tried to get ee to stop at the Bronx Zoo (we were right near it, on the Cross Bronx Expressway), but he just looked at me like I'm nuts lol.

Certainly my dear would you prefer London Zoo where there's less walking between exhibits or its countryside bit which is Whipsnade and practically on my doorstep, but a bit of a step between pens unless you go round by car or on the little train that goes through the Rhino field?

I, too, found 'downs' odd, based on when I was in England.
So I decided to look. It comes from Old English 'dun' for hill (North Downs).
We got our yard work done, and then it rained a little bit more.
One zoo I liked was in San Antonio, where you could buy healthy treats for the animals. Also near there is a park with zebras etc. allowed to run loose. Sometimes they come up to your car so you have to watch your windows!

Whipsnade Zoo forgot to tell you about the white lion cut into the hillside but there's a pic on this website. We go for hillside figures you may be interested in This one too!

sounds lovely UYS :)

hopefully not too soon, though, to give this volcanic ash problem time to sort itself out!

Middle of July hoping lifes back to normal by then funnily enough I kept putting off booking anything for no reason at all well except that I'd far rather be cruising but the cruisng option with timeshare is crap and we've got to use the yearly points on something and Ron wanted to go back to Gran Canaria. We are going to Mogan a part of the island we haven't visited before. I booked the flights separately but I could hear it in the operators voice that she was somewhat irritated when I insisted I could get flights a good £100 cheaper than she could

Today (April 20) is my AA birthday - now 28 in those terms!
Wouldn't mind being 28 again, at least physically.:)

My woman sure finds me quite sexy. Her figure no longer is what it once once, but she' s the one that gets me going.

Now I have to prepare for a PhD dissertation defense - now I'm on the other side and get to ask questions, rather than having to answer them!
