I think my office needs a napping couch. I usually take an afternoon nap at home, but a mid-morning nap sounds like something I could add to my daily agenda.

25 months I get my retirement though and I haven't really decided if I'll keep an office or not. If not, there's no sense in spending a couple hundred on a couch.

I have a futon couch/bed frame that I would sell cheap.
The futon itself, I'll throw in for free, but since it's up in
the pole barn/garage, it might be a mouse nest by now.

I think that the next time I haul scrap, I'll haul it too
and then use the futon as part of my landfill program.

Jabba senior wants a poelease reeeport filed for the vandalized concrete from last week.
So Wat called in.
They'll get back in touch.

Wat is waiting.

Good thing that Wat has enough stuff to do so that he won't die of boredom waiting.

At least the call was only 90 seconds which he'll never get back.

Home. Grazing in. Quiet day at the house, it looks like, with exception of the new neighbors moving into the upstairs unit on the corner. Kids. Okay.

Grazed in for lunch at work today. Breakfast, too, really. It's a good idea until I get tired of it and go out to eat somewhere. We'll see if we can't make that wait awhile, because if I haul interesting stuff from home, dining in will suck much less.

Finally caught up with my buddy. She's doing well. Looked good. She swears I've lost weight. The scales say that I'm well within my 5-7 pound normal fluctuation zone. I thanked her. Ain't arguin' about it.

The girl cat is stalking a cricket. The Mighty Hunter/Killer. As long as she leaves the spiders alone.

There's something about a lighthouse.

Happy Tuesday!!! Dishes are washed, coffee is on, cats have food, lunch is hanging on the doorknob to go to work, and the old microwave is sitting there, too, ready to go for a ride. Stopped and bought petrol on the way home last night.

The drive up and down the road from here to there isn't much longer than the one I had Out West. But that one was country roads with poodles and mooeys and sheepses and deers and crops and hills and the occasional tractor. This one to the coast is highway. Boring production driving, alone, just 75 minutes logged with nothing but Getting There. And then in the afternoon, Getting Back. At least the road construction/improvements on the eastbound side are basically done. A lane is still blocked - the new one - but the speed limit is back to normal. They still have some paving to do westbound. IT's working - there are fewer slowdowns.

I did mention coffee, right??

Good morning y'all.

Road work. One of the things that I've noticed over the years is the fact that the start of most, not all but most, of the big highway rehab projects seem to start about the same time school opens. It's as if they plan for maximum visibility and disruption.

I've been fighting a cold for a few days and feel like crap today. Which sucks because next week I have to go get some stuff cut out of my throat, and if I'm sick, the doctor won't see me... that doesn't have to make sense. Covid.

Work. The drive was . . . the drive. As usual.

Not sure the FNG is going to work out. He's been this is into Day Three to fill out all of his new hire paperwork. Wat did his in three or four hours way back when. He also seems not to follow simple instructions all that well. And he's inordinately worried about command structure. Basically, it's this: here's a pile of shit that needs to be done, so get it done. That's really all that anyone wants. It's just not that complicated. Or difficult.

Sometimes, tenant property gets damaged. Then they squawk. Funny how few of them have renter's insurance. Don't get it.

Looks like only plumbers again today, so we likely won't have a late one, thanks be to Allah.

Crown Royal = Good
Bad Redhead Wigs = Bad
More coffee means I don't care about either

A new social project happening in the area and I voluntold my office elf to get started on our part of it. She's impressing me and I wish I would have gotten her out of the shop sooner, the only fault I've found with her so far is that she's an herbal tea drinker and that's something I can overlook.

Elf on the Shelf is one of my favorite "Last Man Standing" episodes.

It is a Bruce Willis movie from 1996 or so. IT's the same story as Fistful of Dollars from 1964 and Yojimbo from the fifties. Apparently, it's also a TV show from sometime this millennium.

Really had to go 'round-n-'round at the box store to get my shit charged on the company credit account. It seems my card died from neglect. Kind of like if Mommie starved Elf on the Shelf and Junior found his tiny dried bones.

Got some cleaning goodies to try to salvage a shower curtain which got paint on it. The woman washed it, but she didn't run it through the dryer, so I wager the stain isn't set and that I'm going to kick its painty little ass.

Oh, it has been determined that knowing the difference between subjective and objective pronouns is awfully fucking important for good writers to know and to use. Those who do not know and write accordingly should climb feet first into a giant wood chipper. :D
