The plan was to start spring cleaning today, somewhere some higher power is laughing its ass off as some tweekers broke into work at 4 am and set off the alarms. Asshats got caught, caused a bunch of damage to one of the dock doors by using a jack to try and lift it and created a pile of paperwork for me. At least I can do it at home where my coffee pot understands.
Just before my most recent trip south we got notification that bad people had intercepted some checks we'd mailed out to pay our vendors. Those people then altered the checks to pay to themselves. While the banks' fraud department caught the the transactions and we aren't out any cash, it did cause police reports to be made out, and now, additional steps in the process of paying vendors that need doing. What a pain in the ass.
On a good note, it's Saturday, the tide is in (all the way up to the RR tracks), no visible ice on the water, and the coffee is excellent.
Home. Got the tool. It's creative, slick, and amazingly practical. Worth the price of admission. Good drive, good tunes, and decent supper at the biker bar-n-grill.
Happy Sunday!!! Woke up before I thought that I should, but here we are. Josh is lit and inside cats are fed. Gotta feed the big outside kitteh. Gonna make a list for the week's shooping (Lisa Douglas's pronunciation). Was gonna go to collect some windows to sell to a guy next weekend, but my partner didn't do his bit and won't share the key. No idea.
Paperwork was done, the first estimate was acquired for the repairs, the insurance person should be there tomorrow to do their own, we'll lose our deductible but everything else will be covered. The tweekers were arrested and released on their own to appear at a later date, being honest and hardworking just doesn't pay anymore.
Thor we switched everything to electronic payments years ago, I don't think I've written a cheque for anything in twenty years. Since covid started I haven't used much cash either. The world is changing and I can't decide if it's good or bad.
Electronic payments may be coming for the vendors. The help is paid that way. At home, we use electronic payments. I think the last check I wrote was for my new Skidoo in December. If it makes things easier at work, I'm all for it.
