Twenty Somethings

well i'd say big is what you want if you look for a library with lots of material...

but well... as i think i said before, bored is more a state of mind. one isn't bored because there is nothing to do, but because one lacks the resolve to do something. and in the best cases one gets over that. as i said, i am very rarely bored.
thats pretty much like saying depression is a state of mind
some people are prone to it and others arn't

personaly if I find something that actualy challanges me I stick to it untill I get it down then try to move on to something else
so really
once I finish school I'll've finished one of the hardest schools in all of Canada
:rolleyes:
I bite off more than I can chew sometimes

well i'd say there is a difference between depression and being bored. a real depression i suppose is out of the control of the person in question... i am speaking about "just" being bored... obviously there are also people more prone to being bored, and others that aren't. different people have different minds. i must admit though, that the most interesting people i know usually don't tend to get bored - mainly because they do have lots of interests, and work on them. they tend to be more of the type of that the day could well have 48 hours or more, and they'd still not manage to do all they wanted to do...

but yes, doing things that actually challenge you is good. most things are a challenge though, if you want to do them well...

well nearly everything I do I can do well
but I do agree, sometimes you can have a day where you dont have anything to do as well
so meh

well then... my point wasn't really that there are days when there is nothing to do, there's always something to do... and as for doing everything well, i guess you are more talented than me... i find lots of things i need to work on more, all the time...

I get good at something and I move on

but anyways

Wow, I say something and the conversation continues on between just you two. I've been getting that a lot lately. Guess I'm not as conversation worthy as I used to be. Oh wells... I'm finding myself slowly fading into the shadows and to never speak with or see another human again. I might as well just go live in a secluded woods like a hermit, come down only once in a great while to get supplies.

well actually that happens to me quite often too...

Except in this case, I won't be living in the secluded woods.. I'll most likely be living in my car in a parking lot.

Step-dad went off on me again tonight. First it was I had until I was 25 to get out of the house, now it's one week to get start up date for college, or I'm out of the house. Also, apparently I can't wait until this fall either because if I do, I have to go live somewhere else until then.

He also said that I'm an adult now and not in high school anymore, so when I attend college, I have to go every day, even during the summer. I don't get summers off anymore.

Sure, I see taking courses in the summer will get my degree faster, but I always thought I'd work during the summer and save up my money.

Damnit! I hate life and the whole damn concept of the greenbacks (money)!!! He thinks I'm fucking around, and I can assure you I'm not doing it on purpose. I never had a life when I was a kid and I don't have much of one right now. I'd like to be able to go out and have fun. I even want to go on a California trip with my step-cuz that we've been planning for so long.

If I start college now (if it's possible) and take courses in the summer, I'm not going to be able to do that.

ah thats gay
but why the hell are you having such a hard time finding a collage or a decent job in the first place

hell start wit the bottom of the barrel community collage then transfer to another and so on and so forth - my cousin had to do that

and it doesn't matter if they dont have the course you want - just as long as they have some common courses

Yeah, actually I am looking into going back to the community college I WAS attending before. If I can't get in until the Fall at the other college, then I'll know for sure I can get into the local community college right now.

Tomorrow I've got a few applications to drop off for a few jobs, then I'm gonna get in touch with a few college counselors.

if it doesn't
well...
go to a public library and look to teach english in korea or something like that
it pays well - if not for the slight danger of not being part of an official group and such.

good luck

~~~
and on another note
I hate super netting
I never get it right -.-
bah
I want IPv6 to roll out right fucking now so I dont have to deal with subnets and summerizing addresses anymore...
yes well and actually teaching english abroad would be an intersting experience... but boo, they don#t want me because i am not a native speaker. and german is much less popular...
but I'll probly only end up at best with Japanese then russian
hm, well i need to perfect all the languages i am learning... after those i'd want to take up quechua and romany again, and learn turkish, and arabic, and albanian and... well loads of others...
I'm more more likly to learn more than one machine language than natural language...
well for me natural languages are the ones i want to learn, and learn probably more easily.
true
but machine languages facinate me
how a series of high and low pulses can be translated into such complex desings
Is it just me, or is the thought of learning so many different languages crazy sometimes? I mean, I've already learned to speak Spanglish (English and Spanish mixed) just to help with my Spanish speaking, but if you learn like 20 different languages, wouldn't you be bound to start confusing yourself? Like what if one word was the same in at least 5 of the languages you learned?
Don't get me wrong, it's not going to stop me from learning when I can, but it was just a thought.
its not that bad really, unless you start translating something for someone its not that confusing
atleast thats what I've been told by people who know a few languages
plus I hear once you learn your second language it gets easier and easier
garhart knows 13 fluently and about 4 more he gets by with and 2 more he's just started learning at that time(2 years ago)
so I'ma kinda have to agree on him if he says so
well natural languages is what fascinates me... machine languages are interesting too, but i don't think i would be that good with them... but anyway, i wouldn't really refer to them as languages - i know they are called that, but they function quite different to natural languages...
well as for confusing them - you do and you don't. i have problems switching from one foreign language to the other, usually need a few minutes for that - so translating from one foreign language to the other is difficult at times - when i tried to translate from romanian to spanish it was almost impossible, and when i tried to translate from spanish to english i suddenly spoke german without realizing it...
i do sometimes mix in words - but that's usually languages i am not that secure with, so rarely happens with english, for example... i throw the odd romanian word into spanish and vice versa... but what is more common is that i keep saying swedish words when i speak czech, or similar things, as it is anyway more effort still to speak those...
