The word I have highlighted in red is a clear claim to be one of the owners of this site. If that were true I would wonder why (s)he has not posted as Laurel or Manu. Since the obvious answer is that sr71plt is NOT one of the owners of the site, it's back on my ignore list for her(him).sr71plt said:In case “someone,” who might be pursuing her own agenda in violation of the forum rules, needs a refresher on the forum rules:

Anything else goes. You may post whatever you like. Consequently, so can everyone else. The administrators here don't believe they are anyone's parents nor are they anyone's Jiminy Cricket. It's not their responsibility to make sure that everyone on the site uses free speech responsibly. It's up to individual users to be responsible for themselves.
In short, we believe in the First Amendment, and offensive content will not be removed unless it breaks one of the rules.

It was not an attack on the moderator of the sight, at least from this newbies point of view. Reguardless of what nasty things have been said in the past WE SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO QUESTION DECISIONS MADE ON THE SITE. This provokes the question of why things are the way they are and how they could possibly be made better. Moderators work hard and have a thankless job unfortunately. We need to remember that they are people and not perfect. They are entitled to their opinion and but like all "authority" figures they are expected to be 'so much better than the rest of us'. We need to assume (dangerous I know) that they have a good reason for decisions that are made. But we should remember to use tact when asking why, of both moderators and everyone else.
This is exactly what I did with sr's comments and I got reasonable and focused replies.
It should be done in a less confrontational way and with a little more tact, but the core question is valid.
Just call me neutral in the whole buisness. Tact people tact!

That's exactly it! Laila did what she did for the good of her writer...but one unmentionable person decided to take it upon himself to make her feel like shit about it. Well sorry, for that person, but I won't let him piss and shit on anyone who comes with a valid question just because he happens not to agree with that person.
Dear heart. You're new and as such I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that you haven't read every single post that this 'person' has done, if you had you'd see what everyone who had any contact with 'him' saw.
Tact? Lol, that's too funny. That 'person' doesn't even know the meaning of that word, dear. That 'person' doesn't believe in tact or playing nicely with others; that 'person' only wants to be on top of everybody else and look down 'his' nose at them.
Once again, I'll take into account your newness in dealing with that person, but be aware to never disagree with him or tell him to his face he's wrong.....you'll be put into the 'gangbangers' group if you do.
Emerald_Dragon said:But I did disagree with him. I just didn't toss it in his face. My polite arguement made him think about it and he agreed with my slant on the issue.
Yes I am new. But I would like to start off on a good note with everyone and keep it that way. Rest assured that I will try to be tactfull with my comments and hope that people can treat me the same way. You never know, maybe an old dog can learn new tricks.
I remain an eternal optimist.

It is kinda funny because he has a very expensive computer that he uses for online gaming and I use it to play solitare. Hehehe. He just shakes his head.
Thank you for the tactfull reply!!
Later.
sr71plt said:You also could compose your posts in your computer wordprocessing program, spellcheck them there, and then cut and past onto the board.

How do you alter a quote so you can interject comments at the paragraph you are refering to?
And how do you pull in more than one quote to your reply.
Is it all cut and paste??
sr71plt said:I'm sure there is an easy method. But when I do it, I cut and paste the quote openers and quote closers.

Yes; there is no easy way, but as you see, they can be nested if necessary.sweetsubsarahh said:Welcome, Emerald.Emerald_Dragon said:I never thought of that.

Cut and paste work for me.

You can just start typing inside the quote, although it's better, I think, to go back and put your added text in a different color and/or font and/or size to make it stand out and avoid having a touchy poster think you've altered his quote for nefarious purposes.

I just copy the whole quote box several times and split the text between the copies ...palisa said:Some BBS software has a multiquote feature, so you can just click on a box in each post you want to quote and dump them into a reply...You can just start typing inside the quote, although it's better, I think, to go back and put your added text in a different color and/or font and/or size to make it stand out and avoid having a touchy poster think you've altered his quote for nefarious purposes.
.. then put my comments between the truncated quotes. No it doesn't.palisa said:... This software evidently doesn't, as the other posters noted, so cut and paste it is. ...
It can get very messy at times.palisa said:... You can manually add the [ QUOTE=some_posters_name ], then cut and paste the text, and then add the [ /QUOTE ]...
Very wise.palisa said:... (without the spaces, which I put in to avoid creating a real quote here) ...
