Wardens of Wildemount ((OOC))

Hmmm A female Human maybe. One who was very studious and worked hard to get, one who hated Priscilla for being just naturally aptitude. So she made it so Priscilla was supposedly caught 'Cheating' even though someone knew the truth This woman's' passion and drive led her to sabotage Priscilla for her own gain.

Make her a noble, and dislikes Priscillas' natural intelligence and her poor foreign up bringing.

Cool. Those are good ideas. I'll make her Zemnian (germanic)-the dominant culture in the northern part of the Empire where the academy is.

How's Elsa Ulschreiber strike you?

Ooh, I like the idea of a main antagonist being a crazy ex-girlfriend. Full steam ahead, as far as I'm concerned! Also, if this mysterious exalted thingy is gonna be even more awesome than the Sun Blade, then why can't I just have the Sun Blade now??

The concept behind these vestiges of divergence that they were items created for the gods' champions during the calamity, but was lost or buried with their bearers or stripped and stolen from those champions afterwards. So when you first get it is just a regular magic item you get that grows with you, evolving into greater and greater power and capabilities triggered by epic character moments for their bearer throughout the campaign, until it becomes an epic level weapon.

Okay so are you saying I have one of those vestiges now? I'm confused. I just wanted something more than a simple longsword! Lol.

Well, if we are talking about magic items, like I said, I don't have any right now, but I do really like my Goddess rewarding my character magic items for jobs well done. Some stuff that would make sense as rewards.

Wings of Flying(would turn into angelic wings)
Rod of Rulership
And a Robe of the Archmagi

Oh, and for big bads, this is a water based campaign so a big bad HAS TO BE an aboleth. It's like an unofficial rule.

My idea is when they eventually vanquish the sea fury they'd find it down there as part of her loot. If you want, Desperado you can say he has a moderately powerful magic weapon that you won't mind changing out when we reach that point. Tthough I suppose the it could be a cool bit of armor or shield or something instead so you won't have to make that choice.

Whatever works, lol. So has everyone recovered from their Christmas hangovers? We ready to get back to it? I'm ready man.

I dunno the usual christmas doldrums on Lit doesn't end until New years is done with and things in RL get back to relative normal.

Well, I can't post until Jaena, Priscilla, Verity or Kurdax kind of responds to my character. Feels pretty silly to skip ahead of that. Priscilla did post, but didn't really respond to her, so I felt I should wait until one of the others posted.

I've seen threads move slower though. It's whatever pace works.

And I'm holding off until queenofcups, or suchabadman, can have the oppurtunity to chime in.

I've yet to become accustomed to the ebb and flow of the winds and the tides here. Thanks for the weather report, boss.

Yeah do this long enough you'll learn the patterns too. I've had plenty of threads die out as the holidays cause RL to swallow up my partners for a long time. RL can be mean like that to people especially after the holidays. Ofcourse I've also had other threads come back even stronger than before after the holidays. There's no way to tell really how it will go until it happens. As a SRPer on this site you gotta learn to roll with the punches like that and have another idea or join another thread to write in.

Yeah I am more on spin control to not get keelhauled or thrown off the ship, into the arms of angry pursuers

Hi all, please expect an update from me tomorrow once I can re-read a bit and dive back in. Definitely got sucked up in those holiday doldrums.

Don't worry about it Queen. It happens to so many people here on Lit during Christmas that it isn't anything to get stressed over.

We'll look forward to your update tomorrow.

I've been thinking about the game since it may really get going soon and I've realized there are 2 things that may really cause the thread to fall apart, both kind of relating to how many people are in the thread.

The first is combat. Let's say Veroe introduces a minitour for us to fight in one post. Now the responder to the post may think, oh a minitour, that's easy, and they may just say how they kill it no prob, but Veroe may have actually had in mind that minitour as being like a level 11 barbarian and that was supposed to be this really epic fight.

I really think for combat to work well everyone should be able to control the creatures we fight, and I also think to stop the game from being old hat everyone should be able to introduce enemies for us to fight.

So my solution to this problem is maybe to do what Veroes did with the ship crew and post the challenge rating, or better yet, to make it so we don't get to confused and a bit more simple, if you introduce a monster for us to fight post in here how hard you want it to be and that would translate to how many posts it should take to take the thing down and how epic it should be. Also post some of its powers if it is lesser known being and how it acts, so everyone can with ease control it.

So I introduce a rat and I post in here that it is easy, so with an easy the next person to post can kill that rat no problem, have fun!

If I introduce a bandit and I say it is medium, at least two or three people should post and thus beat up this thing a bit in order to kill it.

If I introduce a werewolf and it's hard, four posts.

Main bad, and we point out its EPIC! Everyone should post to kill the thing, unless someone comes up with something really creative and cool to beat it that makes sense.

We can of course also hash out how the fight should go a bit, and of course, these are really ruff ideas on my part. I just think combat maybe a bit tricky.

The other problem we could have is sex. Namely, a sex scene would tend to be between two players(though I'm up for having more involved :D ) and a sex scene may go on pretty long which may make all the other players feel left out. So I would suggest if you have a sex scene going on between you and one other player and it's been going on for like 6 posts(3 posts for each of you) and nobody else as a result has been able to move their character again, maybe just check with the rest of the group to see if everyone is cool for the scene to keep going, or if it should be wrapped up quick. I've never been in an SRP thread with this many players before so I don't know how this problem tends to be responded to.

But ya, that's just some of my thoughts on some of the problems we may have and how we could deal with them.

All very good points, JSB. I will of course go with whatever is agreed upon, but that seems a solid foundation at least, if not a finished product.

Those aren't bad ideas, JSB. I'm still trying to work out how this all will work exactly. Whatever we use will certainly be something very similar if not that system outright incorporated with other ideas as well.

For instance I'd like if one of casts a spell or uses a class/racial ability they notify the rest of us that they did it and just what that spell or power does and who is effected by it and for how long.

Also when in combat post where you move your character so we're all on the same page where everyone is. Something we'll be lacking without minis or a battlemap. That way our casters will know our melee fighters are up in the monster's face so they probably shouldn't just lob a fireball at it if they don't want to hit their frontliners as well.

Also I want us to be as guided by the flow of the story as much as possible, giving lots of people to chances to shine. So if it makes for a more dramatically satisfying scene for the characters then that before mentioned measly little rat JSB introduced is going to be one hell of a dodgy illusive little bastard to hit until we accomplished the dramatic height of the scene then it'll be one very dead rat.

Posted - and agree with the general sentiments above. Also, please send me a PM or post here if I accidentally post something that makes what you wanted to do difficult or doesn't make sense. I've been a bit overclocked with work, and I'm happy to fix if I go awry.

Hey, so I don't mean to bring my problems from other RP pairings here, but if one of the ladies here has some room on their plate for a 1v1 please PM me so we can discuss the idea I have literally been sitting on for MONTHS but in a moment of sleep-deprivation-fueled impatience I told the woman I already had, that it "wasn't working out." Seriously in a bad place over that. Not fun.

Very good post. :D

But Diva'ss in my post was trying to get by you, Jaena, Priscilla, and Kurdax. Verity completely ignoring Diva'ss is fine, I just want to know if that's what she did.
