Wardens of Wildemount ((OOC))

Okay there is a solution to it JSB. One of your grouping writes a post where you do get by them have short scene with Captain Saldea and then leave the cabin and end the scene with Verity's question to you and your answer.

Yep, meanwhile Jon's just vibing, wondering if any of the pirates are gonna recognize his tabard's symbol and just run him through.

What god did we decide he serves. It was Pelor, the sun god, right?

If so...he's a very commonly worshipped god in Wildemount, so it's not unheard of for Pirates not to bat an eye with a dude with his symbol on his chest.

Dunno. I sort of just made up the symbol, but we can change it if the god we decided he worships has a specific one. The appearance of the symbol is in Tusk and Jon's joint intro post.

I've reread that post more closely. Sorry I missed that detail before.

That symbol isn't really identifying any god of Wildemount per'se, but I don't think that matters really. It is more representative of the oath your character took as a paladin of the open sea. So maybe it's an insignia of the paladins that rescued him that he's adopted. Or it could be a more personal one to him.

If it was the symbol of that ship of paladins then these pirates would most certainly recognize. Those damned goody two shoes paladins have been a bane upon dishonest hard working pirates in the waters around darktow for years.

From the vibe I get from Jon I think any number of the gods would love to have his service but I think Pelor or Melora or Bahamut fits him best.

Yeah, let's go with the "symbol of the ship of paladins" option. I'm kind of itching for a fight, to be quite honest. What of my proposal regarding the city watch lending aid, should smiting commence?

Great remind me of that symbol when it comes time to introduce those paladins into the story.

The problem with getting into a fight would be I wanted the pirates to be our way in to Darktow, and perhaps depending on how we play our cards prospective allies to our group.

I've been contemplating having some sea-based monster or perhaps some sort of storm-based monster that the pissed off sea fury sent to wreck the ship and we fight it off and save the Silverpike and earn Saldea's cooperation that way.

Hmm. I suppose, even though Jon would love to mount the pirates' heads on a "silver pike" (har har), the ends would justify the means in this case. Part of the fight sequence would have involved leaving the captain alive, so they could interrogate her and force her to lead them to Darktow. Anyway, the presence of the captives would bother Jon until they are set free, so I don't see that happening without the ship being under the control of the party; would there be a chance that by the time they reach Darktow, since they basically saved the ship and the pirate crew from whatever the Sea Fury sends after them, the pirates would be more amenable to setting them free? If not, smiting will happen the second the pirates are no longer useful for getting to Darktow, I'm just warning you all now. Finally, what monster will have the vestige as part of its loot? The sea fury itself, or the "minion" you spoke of in your most recent post? Oh and I am perfectly fine with having the Sun Blade or another magic weapon and then finding the vestige and being all "okay it's been fun, peace out" at the magic weapon lol.

Very good post. :D

But Diva'ss in my post was trying to get by you, Jaena, Priscilla, and Kurdax. Verity completely ignoring Diva'ss is fine, I just want to know if that's what she did.

No ignoring! I've made some tweaks to give you some space to maneuver. She's just looking for a place that feels a bit more appropriate for introductions - the ship will be a cramped one!

Posted!

As for doing a fight, I think it maybe an idea to do a small, simple fight so we can all see how it works. The ship being attacked sounds pretty epic so it might be a bit tricky for our starting fight. We are now going to a tavern for some drinks. May I suggest we deal with some overly drunk goblins causing trouble? That would be a pretty easy first fight.

I just did a short bit where Jon offered to reimburse Diva'ss. He of course doesn't realize for sure that she paid for him and Tusk as well, not yet anyways, but he is nothing if not a forward-thinker. And if Verity overhears Diva'ss say how much it was, then Verity will of course know that the Captain overcharged.

Great job guys. I'll try and write us a post next to get us to this withered bird tavern for some comeraderie building between our characters. The tavern should be very close by since their in the middle of a bad thunderstorm. Then some sort of creature(s) sent by the sea fury will attack the ship and we'll fight it and stop it saving the pirates and gaining some good will from them.

Sorry to do this to everybody, but I think I need to bow out. I think things move too fast for me and I've got a new job starting at the end of January. All my spare time is going to be involved in prepping for a move and relocating to a new city between now and then.

Love the characters you've made, but life happens. Hope we can write again when I get settled.

That's okay, Bad-Man, RL happens to everyone. We'll try work around your absence.

I hope you have great success in your new job.

I posted the post.

I had my character unable to see through Diva'ss disguise self spell. So you're welcome on that count.

Also I took my half-baked D&D character idea for a storm Sorcerer and condensed it down to a mere paragraph of dialogue on Halland to foreshadow the coming monsters. So be kind on that part, will you guys?

Also PLG, if you need clarification about Jaena's questions over Serenrae I'll be happy to explain it in detail.

Scholarly people interested in history and religion and specifically the events of the Calamity like Jaena is are the only people who'd remember her in most of Wildemount and then basically only as a footnote. She certainly does not know that Serenrae survived the attempt to kill her (though just barely), but only in the last twenty years or so has been experiencing a resurgence on the other side of Exandria in Tal'dorei and Vasselheim thanks to clerics like Pike Trickfoot's and Tusk's efforts to spread the word about her.

some pictures for any islands in the Lucidian Ocean we may stop at.

The rest are just some cool images to inspire some ideas in us.
