Wardens of Wildemount ((OOC))

HF, as far as I'm aware there are no harpers in Wildemount, but there is a secret order known as the golden grin that may very well serve much the same function as the Harpers from Forgotten Realms for your character. Grinners as they refer to themselves come from a time when the continent of Taldorei was under the control of a tyrant, and the golden grin formed to oppose him. In the centuries since they've stretched out from Taldorei to the other continents of Exandria one of which being Wildemount.

their goal is to travel the world enlightening and inspiring the downtrodden and oppressed trading in secrets and seeking to create upheaval to depose the cruel and wicked of the world.

How much you want to play into any of that is up to you of course, but that I think is the closest faction to the harpers. The show (critical role) in either campaign has only ever encountered two npcs belonging to the grin or atleast acknowledged to belong to them by Matt Mercer.

I've counted the Mephits. There are only two left.

In my post when they originally showed there were 7, post 62. Then in post 66 the skeleton Diva'ss brought forth killed 2. Jon then killed one in post 72. Priscilla then killed one in post 73 and and Ulrich killed one in post 74.

So that leaves two left.

Thanks for the clarification JSB. So there's two more mephits left. How about the next round the tempest draws two air elementals into the fight next rather than more mephits.

Sounds good with the air elementals, but I wanted to up the stakes and make it clear the danger we were in. I also wanted to give whoever posted next a hero moment.

Diva'ss just got blasted and was knocked out into the sea and is on deaths door. Somebody save me!!!

She also used Eldritch blast and healing light. Her skeleton was also sadly blown up.

Someone ask for a savior? :D:D

I should be able to make a first post for Finn tomorrow night.

He's College of Lore. I looked into make him College of Swords or Valor to make him more of a fighter, but the perks just don't compare to College of Lore.

I agree being somewhat biased having played one back in 3e that would'e been perfect for College of Lore in 5e. So take this with a grain of salt when I say College of lore is the best sub-class for bards.

I played a bard back when they first developed the class. Haven't played one recently, but there's a character similar to Finn in a novel I'm working on, so I've been researching D&D bards to give me a framework for my novel char.

Don't do too much research that you forget to post, now! Hehe. Looking forward to your grand entrance.

*Gently nudges you towards the IC forum with a vibrator-tipped pole, making sure to catch you on the butt as often as possible* xD

Good of you to have Jon rescue Diva'ss from drowning, Desperado (really like the story ramifications for the two of your characters), but just remember that that knocks the both of you out of the fight for at least a round or so as you two both climb up out of the water and onto the pier and then back onto the deck of the Silverpike. Remember each round of combat in D&D equals about six seconds of real time.

Ya,

It does strike me though that guards or soldiers from the town may show up to try and stop this Elder Tempest. He's doing a lot of damage at this point to their town so I would assume the local authorities would at least try to help. So maybe that will help even things out.

I can also do Eldritch Blast which has like a 120 feet range so I could likely still hit the Tempest from where I am, which may actually work as a good distraction.

JSB, keep in mind that so far only about eighteen seconds or so has occured since the Elder Tempest's appearance in the sky of Nicodranus. So give the Zhellezzo some time to stop shitting their pants and pointing at it asking each other, "What the hell is that thing?", "I don't know either, but we gotta get out there and stop whatever that thing is, right?", "I have a spear and you have a sword. What the hell are we going to do against that thing?".

Hmm, are we all ready to press on then? Even if the guards fuck off, we still have a battle to fight. Either way, happy Valentine's Day!!

Good post Haremfury, but I noticed you stated fire and cold could not hurt the beast we were up against.

Just so you know the creature we are using is an Elder Tempest: https://5e.tools/bestiary/elder-tempest-mtf.html

Fire and cold actually hurts them just fine, unless we are talking a different edition. Just wanted to make sure you had the right monster sheet for the creature. Glad to have you in the group!

Ah, thanks. Someone had called it a Sea Fury (I skimmed through the IC thread) so I looked up that beastie and figured if Finn is a bard and hanging around sea ports he's know about them. I'll go edit.

Yeah we're planning on using the sea fury as the big bad of this arc, HF. She's the one that conjured up this storm and opened the portal to the elemental plain of air summoning the elder tempest we're fighting right now. She has as yet unspecified grudge against the pirates of Darktow island, or rather a unclarified personal grudge against their leader, the plank king.

Harem

I get a sense from that post that really any excuse to leave the barmaid after you were done... ;-) if so i like this guy already.

Haha
