Wardens of Wildemount ((OOC))

Lol hit it and quit it I suppose, though Jon and I would both be playing slightly longer games, given the choice.

I posted and had Jaena prmarily note what's been going on. She did use Misty step to cross the ship and appear next to Priscilla. She's having a conversation that will hopefully lead us to using divine intervention with Priscilla and also siobancan can say Ulrich overhears this and chime in or think on it if he desires that.

Posted. All the Mephits are now dead. Diva'ss killed one with Eldritch Blast and the last one was killed by the Tempest itself. We can bring in more air beings now if everyone wants to, but we for sure should start trying to figure out how we are going to try and beat this thing.

Posted, as well. I was thinking the steps were farther along the harbor/seawall than the pier the Silverpike is docked, so Jon was able to see further through the driving rain than anyone on-deck.

What do you guys think? Should we look to end this fight here or should we use an air elemental or two to continue it and develop an avengers assemble feel to our group here.

Sorry you all been busy trying not to freeze or loose water. I'll post when I get home tonight.

As for ending this, I am gonna agree. As to how how about a spell mishap?

Are we posting in some sort of turn order? I just need to know when I should post for Finn again.

I'm for getting rid of the Elder Tempest. Not sure if we can actually kill it, but we can chase it away.

My character discovered a fortification further along the harbor with something that MIGHT be a ballista on top of it, but that's all he could make out through the rain and the gloom. He then ran back to the ship and started shouting about it to all who would listen.

Veroe has thus far remained silent about the legitimacy of my character's actions; even though this is an RP and not an actual DnD session, he is still, technically, the DM.

No turn order. You post when you feel it's right.

Posted. I had the pirates join in...at least some of them. And the storm sorceror, Halland, floated up and diverted the wind around the ship making a calm bubble around the Silverpike. Saldea shooting the tempest in the eye was the equivalent of her rolling a nat 20.

I had Jaena use her Planar Warrior feature on the first arrow she fired this time for that extra oompf to the damage her arrow caused.

I also thought about having the pirates start casting off but decided against it since HF hasn't had the chance to have the bard join them yet.

I see this as the ending phase of this battle. Desperado about that ballista if the zhellezo join in it would probably be with that. So you can have Jon man it but also have some of them help you load and aim the thing. And if you could have them be acting a little panicky about fighting the tempest but trying to defend their city from it. They're used to going against pirates or the occasional Sahaugin raid not giant snake things in the middle of the sky.

JSB if you want to get ready for Diva'ss to follow through on your original plan to scare it back through the portal up in the storm with Erathis's power, but just don't do it right off if you can. Make it seem difficult for her also to give the others a chance to hit tempest with a good shot or two and be badass.

I actually had no such original plan. I think Erathis stepping in wouldn't really fit things. My idea was the whole Kraken showing up, but you were right, that doesn't work to well.

I think with it being shot at, at all sides it may indeed run away. It is way above us in level, but like I said earlier the crew on the ship is a lot of people, all level 6-10 and all now attacking it as one. Just by pure numbers we would be able to hurt it a lot.

Okay we'll go with plan B or is it F by now. I've lost track.:D

Everybody will gang up and take their shots at it and we'll try to get it down enough in HP that it'll run off back home.

I had the fortification building show itself as a ballistae shooter. It struck the air tempest twice before the air tempest killed one of the people in it, causing the rest to run away. It is free for our characters to use if we want to now.

I also hit the Elder Tempest with two blasts of Eldritch Blast and set up the idea that the creature was becoming over whelmed so now really anyone can say the beast runs away and it will fit.

It at this point has a body count of seven, eight if you count the suicide it caused. So, I think it has lived up to its challenge 23 rating.

Siobhan, the NPC, Halland, is my half-baked idea for a storm sorceror character. So I gave him the backstory for it mostly as a lark and to try it out.

Basically when he was a boy his parents as fishermen took him out on their boat to start learning the family business. Unfortunately a magical storm came upon them and capsized the boat. His mother and father both were lost or drowned and he was alone. Though somehow a piece of that storm's arcane nature was left absorbed and trapped within him like a tiger in a cage.

Fun fact: then bosun Saldea is the one that rescued him from being lost alone at sea from that, and he's sailed with or for her ever since.

In answer to Ulrich's question: Halland thinks every storm is that storm coming to take it back from him and kill him like it did his father and mother. He becomes a little cracked during one. But he's wrong this isn't the same storm and the elder tempest had no part in the one that did it.

He's basically not right in the head at the moment.

I didn't intend to devote so much into this NPC but I used him for foreshadowing this fight and it just started snowballing from there.

Hey HF. Could you tell me where Finn is? Is he on the ship or the docks? It seemed a little unclear to me.

In my next post I'd like to have Jaena notice and comment on him in order to include you into the group if I can.

He’s in the ship. I’ll go back and edit in a little bit to make it clearer. Sorry abt that.
