Wardens of Wildemount ((OOC))

She would not be the first.

Ah, and to catch a second bird with this stone, if she *were* to multiclass - her reqs currently aren't great for many other builds, so she might pick up a cutlass and learn sword fighting as a fighter. Depends, I think, if she's encouraged or dissuaded to do that with the activities of the group.

Ooo Nice a Fighter, though I am gonna go all-in on Arcane trickster for now. Working on my spells right now

Sorry I'm late to the party, but welcome to the ladies. :D

As for having two bards, I don't see there being that much of a problem. Kurdax would be in the mix, fighting beside the paladin and layering buff spells and effects. I don't see him gravitating toward the mind-affecting, illusion style of magic. As I said, he's a Skald and brings the heroes of old with him to stand with him and his allies. With having access to medium armor and Martial weapons as well as Dwarven constitution bonus to HP, he should be pretty effective in melee.

I will say, he's not a particularly bright man (only an 8 for Intelligence), but can hold his own in most other areas.

As for the start of the story, I wonder if we all have leads to something and run into one another along the way. I could see the group growing the party a piece (or pieces) at a time as we all realize we're on the trail of the same thing. I'm not sure who might know each other ahead of time. The cleric and paladin may be from sympathetic orders, but beyond that, I'm not sure.

Thoughts.

I can see my character fallowing around Verity. I was thinking Diva'ss has small, little horns that she grew because verdan do mutate. She likely grew them because she sees herself as a monster. She would constantly be casting disguise self on herself, not wanting anyone to know she's a verdan. Then she sees this tiefling with horns that is out and open about it. I think Diva'ss would be interested in seeing this being that is so comfortable in her own skin when she so greatly isn't. But she would be shy, and feel like Verity could be dangerous because she is chaotic, so she would want to feel her out. So she would be fallowing her at a distance using disguise self to cover who she is. I'm then thinking Verity and/or the rest of the group gets in trouble and Diva'ss has to reveal herself and join the fight.

This is Tusk:

He is fairly naive and has the dexterity of the 300 pound slab of muscle he is. Despite his Orcish heritage, he is highly intelligent and as brave and disciplined a man as you are likely to see.

After some more fine working I think I have a picture for the character that I really like. :D Here is Diva'ss!

I see Priscilla joining up with someone who won't mind a little light-hearted skirting of the law

Good progress we're making. And "light hearted skirting of the law" is definitely something Jon can work with, especially when it's in service to a good cause. He might be scared of splitting Priscilla in two, however!!

Wow you guys have been busy. Great progress made everyone.

I think we need to start thinking that each of our characters or groupings of characters want something or someone from the pirates at Darktow. That gives them all a reason to go there and team up with these other stupid fuckwits to get whatever or whomever they want from these pirates.

There are a LOT of motives my character could have for this.

1. They are pirates! My character is law at all costs. She would go there to try and clean up the mess they were causing, hoping to get employed by the law enforcement there so she could make some coin while she was at it. Likely planning to pretend to be a pirate to take them apart from the inside, cause they are against the law and she must be the hammer of justice!

or 2. Her parents were involved with these pirates and she sees stopping the pirates as the next step in cleaning up her bad past.

or 3. As I suggested earlier, she was fallowing around Verity do to curiosity and then she decides to join the group because if she just stood back and let them all die, that would clearly go against her code.

Oh I like that she can teach him about street life, haggling and the value of ownership

This is gonna be fun! Me a street urchin reject of the Cereberus Assembly, who now uses her arcane talents to make money and her life easier on her.

Taking a cue from spitballin here:D

Name: Jaena Pharstreider
Alignment: Neutral Good
Rranger, Horizon Walker
Level: 7
Sage: Background. Jaena is a field researcher in association with the monks of the Cobalt Soul.

As a Half-elf Jaena has the following powers:
Darkvision (60 ft)
Fey ancestry: advantage against being charmed, and can't magically be put to sleep.

Languages: Common, Elvish, Dwarvish, From sage background: Celestial, and Draconic

Skills: Investigation, Perception, and Stealth. from Sage background: Arcana, and History

Jaena has uncovered the thirteenth volume of the Magnificent Memoirs of the Mighty Marquel Lepenne, a self-styled hero of the cataclysm. One of the few works that old maintained within the archives of the Cobalt Soul. They have seven of the thirteen volumes. However, most scholars disregard Lepenne's memoirs for the seven volumes within the archives are highly contradictory and mostly seem to aggrandize a notorious narcisisistic braggart of that age.

Yet within the pages, which recount how Lepenne was there at the seige of the lost city of the ancient Madori people by fiends from the nine hells and led several of the civilians out of the city before it was lost, she found a buried code detailing the secrets to fabled secrets of the Madori gaurdians of the planar nexus within their city of Shara'Balamb.

From the secrets detailed within this hidden code of Lepenne's memoir she has learned following powers.

Detect portal: though she's never had the opportunity to use this power yet, she can supposedly detect the presence of a planar portal as well as how far away and in which direction it lay.

Planar Warrior: From the secrets of the hidden code she's learned to draw upon the reverberations of the very fabric of the dimensional walls between the multitude of realms of the cosmos to imbue and empower the attacks of her arrows and dagger when she decides to throwdown with something being rude or nasty standing in her way.

And most recently she's decoded the secret of a new power she has yet to attempt. The most famous power of the fabled Madori warriors...the Ethereal Step: She can phase into the Ethereal plane for a brief time and pop out in a different location at the end of that brief span of time. Could come in handy in a tight spot she guesses.

Spells known: 1st level-Protection from evil and good, Misty step, Hunter's mark, Ensnaring strike, Zephyr strike, Fog Cloud. 2nd level-Pass without trace, Locate Object, Find Traps.

Feat: Sharpshooter. Jaena has mastery with a bow and arrow and can perform incredible shots hitting targets that're barely peeking out from cover with deadly accuracy.

What I'm thinking is starting the thread with them in Nicodranus and a storm is approaching so all the ships in the area are coming into port at the docks to shelter from it including some that may or may not be revelry pirates. That way we can all recognize one ship and individually try to sneak or persuade our way on board to get what we want from the pirates.

Needs a little more work, I know, any suggestions.

Tusk will have no idea what is going on but sees some adventurers that likely need a little healing and muscle. He'll see if there's and reason to stay with the group after the initial quest. Which, of course, he will.

Should I fill out an entire character sheet since there will be no rolling of dice or comparing of scores?

maybe tusk can be a friend of one of us at the start so he'd be along to support and watch the back his buddy.

I did the character sheet thing cuz spitballin did it and thought it would be fun. It isn't mandatory.

I just did a character sheet cause it helps me understand what my character can do. Never played a warlock before, so I wanted a good breakdown of all the spells I had. RP wise I can see my character using disguise self and fast friends a lot and I'm sure sooner or later the other stuff will come up.

I'm pretty sure you don't need one.

I think the idea is fine. I can see me trying to sneak in so I can, as suggested, pretend to be a pirate and sabotage them from the inside out.

The only thing I would add to it is make it a bit more fantasy based, like instead of a simple storm approaching it is a Sea Fury having a hissy fit. She wants a higher pay from the pirates and they have refused so now she is brining about an unsafe sea way. Something that sets up later story beats, IE. we'll have to fight her down the line.

okay i like that idea, and it hitting nicodranus is just collateral damage.

I think that Kurdax sees it as an opportunity to get one step closer to his goal. If he can get on a ship for free and maybe work his way across, he could find his way to Marquet. Then again, he doesn't think things through that well. I checked and it was his Wisdom that was an 8 so he may hop in on an impulse and just hope to game the situation to his benefit.

Suddenly, there are all these are people getting involved to. I figure he rolls with it and worries about it later. For a dwarf, he lives very "in the moment". Hence the Chaotic part of his alignment.
