When I signed up I happened to be reading a book about wars between the Byzantine and Persian empires. Xerxes was a Persian king (several of them, actually). And I was chuffed when I realized it was SexRex backwards, and was thus also kind of a pun.

Let me tell you the silliest story. This name was created because I thought I'd use this account to write all the stories. So, so sexypants. I was going to have a collection of bodice rippers. So, the idea was that I'd create a nom de plume for that. I thought of the silliest romance writer name, and Desiree (which is a French name coming from the word "desired") and Radcliffe (after the godmother of the gothic novel, Ann Radcliffe, not Daniel or the college) were then shoved together and now you have me.
