the struggle is real!!
Thank You, very kind of you. My town was totally destroyed, a damn broke in the middle of the storm to make matters even worse, 42 confirmed dead and over a 100 still missing just in Buncombe county. I was one of the blessed people even though I have no power, water, gas or cell service I still have a home thousands don't have anything. Was finally able to get out today and came down to one of my daughter's home in Spartanburg, just being able to take a shower was a blessing and to be able to reach out to other family and friends to make sure they were ok and to let them know my family are surviving was a God Send. You never know how much you miss just the basics till something like this happens, like Hank Jr said " A Country Boy Can Survive " and Thank God it's all we can do for now
.Only staying the night here, must go back home tomorrow and do more clean up and to help other less fortunate than l, don't know when we'll get utilities back, their saying weeks to months but I will try to update any progress as I can. Love all my friend's here on Lit

I have heard from my cousin in TN, but haven't heard anything from family north of Boone in Ashe County. The Ashe Co page did say StarLink Satellite was set up in Creston to help people with cell service. This will only work if they had a solar charger for their phones, though. So many people cut off from others due to impassable roads, fallen trees, mudslides, etc etc.
My heart hurts to think about it.

I need to start getting out more
Thank You, going to be a long road back if at all. Yes just heard the first information today from up in that area, they got slammed like we did and getting information and help to them has been impossible, so many roads here are gone and the one's that weren't totally washed away are impassable. Even around the Asheville area only interstates are partially open, I 26 East only way out of the area as of now. I40 is wiped out in both directions and I26 up to TN is impassable in Erwin TN which also was wiped off the map. Burnsville is cut off from everyone and Newland was wiped out to. Maggie Valley is gone along with Chimney Rock and Lake Lure. Dam broke in Black Mountain right in the middle of the storm and everything down stream to TN was wiped out. Dam at Lake Lure broke Saturday and National Guard airlifted over 150 people to safety in 2 day's in just that area. Airport reopened Monday to only military and emergency planes so help is slowly getting here, with interstates closed their having trouble getting the power crews from surrounding states in here to help.

. We'll get through this but unlike past natural disasters this one will be a very long one, year's if they they are able to rebuild some areas. One thing that has pissed me off is our local government, first thing they said on radio was " O No our leaf season just got ruined" people are dead and homeless and you're worried about tourists dollar's WTH
