What does the poet community do for Lit?

thanks ladies!

WickedEve & Lauren.Hynde

Thanks ladies, I can't wait to join in the fun! You both have excellent bodies of work.

I was just thinking about you! I read some of your poems and musings yesterday, and I must say I am proud that you want to hang out with us. Very, very good. ;)

Miss LH

Why thank you, I most certainly will. Although, I think I'm more of a haiku ho' than a hypersonnet slut. For example:

White blouse unbuttoned,
barely baring your nipple
ripe and wanting touch.

May I just express my exasperation at the fact I hate to register a hundred posts to procure an avatar. Hardly seems fair.

You may express it. It's unfair. The best you can do is getting in all the fun and post. I'm looking forward to see you respond to the challenges on the board. I'm looking forward to see myself respond to some of them too, but that's another story.

Can I use that haiku in my signature? :D

Haiku precision

Good haiku, lmb. One of my favorites poems of all time is technically not a haiku, but very haiku-like in the precision of its imagery:

IN A STATION OF THE METRO

The apparition of these faces in the crowd:
Petals on a wet black bough

BTW, if you want to get to a hundred posts in a hurry, all you have to do is what a lot of people on Lit. do: a lot of short, quick posts.

(The poem's by Ezra Pound, by the way).

Great strategy! I'll just stick my two cents in everywhere I can. Love Ezra...my favorite passage from A Virginal:

Slight are her arms, yet they have bound me straitly
And left me cloaked as with a gauze of ether;
As with sweet leaves; as with subtle clearness.
Oh, I have picked up magic in her nearness
To sheathe me half in half the things that sheathe her.

:)

Thanks, babe. You're a sweetheart.

And you should try the "Pretty please, play with me" thread. It won't bite.

Hi folks...yeah, it's been awhile.

On the subject of post counting, I just noted that no one's count on this particular thread has increased. 'boot, you'll still at 18, and 1752 for the lovely lauren.

Then again, I can't even log in at the LOGIN option, so perhaps it's all just me...

Why do you think that's not technically a haiku?

Because a haiku (to strictly follow the form) is seventeen syllables in three lines, arranged 5-7-5. Pound's "Metro" is nineteen syllables and only two lines.

here's what the translator came up with

EƒAƒG Ž‚¿ê OF ƒU “s—§ ƒU apparition of ‚±‚ê‚ç –ÊEE‘”y : •Ù ‰—‚¢‚Ä ƒAƒg wet •‚¢ bough...

hmm, well if this forum supported Japanese characters, then this would be mostly in Japanese. Mostly.:D

Lauren--you are so continental-- I can't keep up with you. I struggle with plain ol' English, and here you are spouting off wicked witticisms in Portuguese, German, Latin, and now Japanese!

You make me feel like I've been to the International House of Pancakes!

(Ooo! I'm soooo close to losing my virginity...it's painful!)

:D

Make that "porncakes" and I agree! . . . As long as I do not have to comb my teeth! :D

PORNCAKES!

HA!

Rybka--

You are a freak! Which is high regards from me...I've been trying to come up with something for the Yum & Cum thread...and whoops! there it is in all it's glory--porncakes! Watch for it later this eve.

Okay--
Porncakes is up on the Yum & Cum thread. Much to my dismay it follows a totally kick ass erotic peanut butter sandwich poem by JUDO. I'll never look at a PBJ the same again!

:D
That is a shameful lie!

I spout off wicked witticisms in English, Portuguese, Latin, Japanese, and once or twice in Italian, French and Spanish. But never once I did it in German. Yet. :p

*running off to write a witty poem in German*

(Oh, yeah! I hope it was as good for you as it was for me)

And Porncakes is one yummy poem. Thank you ;)
