I see Lit as more of a dangerously addictive substance. Eventually we'll all have to join Lit-Anon.

I'm not even home yet and I had to check in here.

Pahk the cah when you go to the bah? ;)

Pahk the cah at Hahvahd.

You seriously want to park the car--Boston drivers are freaking nuts! Cate drove, and I rode with my eyes closed.

One of my best friends lived in MA for a year. She thought all MA drivers were nuts!

You mean it's not like that everywhere?

you have to drive fast or you'll get rear-ended.
you want to switch lanes? just do it. no need to look first.
NEVER make eye contact with other drivers.
stop signs and red lights are only suggestions.

unfortunately, it's almost unsafe to not be an aggresive driver in boston. when ever we go there, my wife either has her feet braced on the dashboard or sits in the back seat. If we're in the minivan, she's in the third seat.

It's like damn bumper cars! Everyone makes their own lane. The travel guide I picked up at AAA even suggests that if you're not an experienced Boston driver, the best thing to do is use public transportation.

it's like the next best thing to driving a race car. :D

southern NH drivers are fairly aggresive too.....a lot of people in this area work in MA.

the basic rule of thumb is: never flinch.
THAT is the honest to goodness truth!!! And believe me, I don't flinch.

I have to say BG and B did very well. BG drove to the JFK Library/Musuem then I drove into Boston. There happened to be a truck rollover on the expressway so all the alternate roads were bumper to bumper -- those conditions make for the most creative driving experiences.

BG got beeped at a few times but lo and behold she beeped at someone - so she'd make it here with a little drive time experience.

I loved having them here...

The fact that even though I am half a world away and in different time zones I was still glad to hear about the adventures of BG and Cate, I am so glad you had a great time. :rose: :)

Ducks :D

Having a belated birthday celebration with my dear friend.

Finally choosing a great glass of wine (I confess I had two glasses) to have with dinner. I should know by now to stick with Chilean red wines; I haven't had a bad one yet.

Suns win!!!!! Poor Lakers, poor, poor Lakers:D

Being home in my own bed with my laptop on my lap. The cat survived but now she's pissed off at me, and expects extravagant treats as an apology.

Welcome home bg :rose:

How was your trip?

Simply said, what feeds my soul is when I make a difference in someone's life; when I am alone, on my motorcycle, spending a couple of weeks cheating death and getting back inside of myself for a change; the simple truth of my daughter's smile; knowing that I have gifts that are not as yet fulfilled; empathy.

Thank you, EJ -- appreciate the welcome!

Life is always blissful, even when one doesn't want it to be. All we can do is our best, and with the recognition that our lives involve so many others...

Looking forward to being a part of this community.

All the best,

Linear.
