You must have been watching the Yankees game

How does one rationalize abbreviating Aaron Copland's name with the letters ELP?
i wasn't.

ELP = emerson, lake & palmer. keith emerson got copeland's permission to cover/reinterpret "fanfare" and they recorded it live at wembley... fantastic arrangement.

Ah, I forgot about them. Thanks for the clarification. I'll have to add this to my collection of well done rock versions of classical pieces.

keith emerson is an absolutely brilliant musician... he's capable of so many things and has the respect of his classical counterparts. with the possible exception of rick wakeman, i think he may be the finest keyboard/piano player around today.

Yes. Try the Sugarloaf version of Bach's Toccata and fugue in F Minor sometime, too.

there are some really vocal birds in my front yard and hedges collecting shit to build their nests with. very cool... sounds awesome!

today i stir up a fresh jar of peanut butter... should be ready for consumption tomorrow. :)

the humane society has been through here over the last couple of days. i'm happy to report that they've extricated at least 3 of the little bastard cats... and i hope they all die a slow, painful death (the cats, not the humane society people).

i'm so happy this seems to be moving in the right direction.

Queen, Bob Seger, and Creedence. Cranked up loud.
out of the three, i'd say that the best chance of being "cranked up" would be with creedence.

(sorry for the wise ass remarks... i'm bored today. lol)

Ahhh, Seger. I need to get some of his CD's. Seems all I have are compilations from soundtracks and such.

I've been in a more melancholy music mood lately, soulful and slow.

i really don't have time for this
work calls and i must
answer. but

a picture of you
all silky wet
in a bath, waiting for me to join
waiting for us
to join. keeps popping into my mind.

what to do, but sit and think of poetry
n prose .... write and watch as you
bobble in
out of bubbles
slide n slink up
down in that tub of mirrors

while toying with my mind
yo-yoing me back and forth
blowing timeless dreams
into my soul
while wishing to soak
skin to skin
with my bare chested man

lil whipsy curls begging me to
wrap around
feet fondly rising to ride bareback
in that tub
like river rafting down
a long stretch
of you ...

*sighs

When I'm sad, music tends to magnify the sadness. I don't know if you all have heard of Delilah (the syndicated show on the radio), but she is now banned from my house. The music she plays is just too...I'm not sure what. Melancholy and emotional, I guess.

I've been listening to a lot of loud rock oldies lately.

If I happen to catch any of Delilah's show, it's usually because I'm flipping through stations on the car radio, hear a song that's, well, OK to listen to, then find out it's her show. Although she does play a good song every now and then, the talk in between is enough to make me gag.

You can put John Tesh's show in that category too.

I didn't even know John Tesh had a radio show. Until I had the dubious pleasure of hearing a bit of it while we were on vacation. Even if some of the music is okay, the talk in between is so hokey and touchy-feely, it makes you sick.
