Friends baby shower. So much death lately, it was nice to celebrate incoming new life and the first baby girl out of a lot of boys in my friend circle to find stuff for. Was able to give her one of the Raggedy Anne dolls my grandmother (who passed on Christmas Eve) because my aunt sent it to me. Guess the other granddaughters wanted the creepy Madame Alexander dolls, not the ones Nana made. My boys each got one as well, though one was Andy. I'd much rather have something made with love than a creepy doll, even if professional doll is worth more dollar wise. The handmade with love makes it worth more than money can ever compair too.

Getting called racist for knowing the actual history of Columbus, not the school room bs. Right, pull someone who's primary hobby is historical reenactment into a history debate in my reenactment time range. Because I totally don't know how to find the historical documents, right? Or acknowledge that most Europeans were racist/religionists during the age of colonialism, even my own ancestors (not saying that's the case today, I know too many that aren't afraid and hateful of differences but in the 15th century things were different).

Darkly amused and waiting for her response. I'd laugh if it wouldn't hurt so much.
