Starting to do crosswords regularly has maybe been the best thing that's happened to my English in a long time. Or at least the second best.

Besides experiencing those weird and thoroughly satisfying moments of "why the hell do I know this word", I'm learning so many new words. Penny-ante, ferule, jalopy, adit!

Even native English speakers can gain a lot of knowledge from doing crossword puzzles...if only more of them would.

Humbleness is a quality of a good learner .

Humbleness is what I see in you as well.

Crosswords and I aren't friends. I solve them much the same way this bald lil guy does. Truthfully but incorrectly.
I'll stick with sudokus to keep my brain matter churning. Numbers are much easier to work with.

New Kitten and Miss Tuxedo playing together. I had no idea how she was going to react to another cat, but she's been an absolute sweetheart - she lets him eat from her bowl and tonight I saw her grooming him for the first time.

Pics or we won't believe you.

I'm proud of me. Took munchkin and we went on our first walking tour of the city on our darn own. I'm trying to settle in to the idea that with him or without him it is going to get better. If he walks; then I get life. I actually get to live. Seriously, I've been here 9 years and I've never been allowed to open my shutters ( every one in the house is now open) and I've never been allowed to go for a walk.
The point of today was to prove to myself that I could do the store that way over vacations from school and the summer.

So yes, with him if he walks back in it will have to include no more emotional abandonment. If he walks out...I'll get life.

Daisies made me smile today. I found daisies on our walk.

:cattail::rose:

My smiles today came from meeting up with an old friend I haven’t seen in a long time and also stroking her very cute little dog.

Smiled at someone getting over their ego just a *little* bit...enough to make a good decision for the best interest of their kid. So daughter had one of the best days she has ever had. She is sleeping ... Like deeply sleeping. Hopefully life gets better.

On the funny side the jawdrop reaction at his seeing the 80% painted room ROFL. Still have no clue if he liked it or hated it *shrug* he better decide to fix stuff and come home soon, cause I decided I'm painting a room/ weekend. Wait too long and it'll be a completely different house!
<<< yeah I'm a bit wicked... Just lucky he isn't my Dom or I might pay for it later. *whoops*

My friend slept with a girl who didn't mention that she had an identical twin. Hilarity ensued.

Finding out I was actually going to get what I wanted for once. It made me smile. Life finally took a turn for myself and that was worth everything.

I love Suduko and play Scrabble and another spelling game online. I love learning new words that someone plays!

The soap maestro I order all the household body soap from also makes sugar scrubs. Said scrubs are amazing for getting chlorine off skin after swimming so one does not smell like a gym pool. Better than any other soap, bar or liquid I'be tried.

Was able to send my Aunt a jar of the sugar scrub and my fave bar soap from SunBasilGarden today. Can't wait for her reaction :) The sugar cookie scrub is like vanilla heaven.

I've been playing a lot of Paperback lately (phone/tablet app and physical card game). You start out with a deck of wild cards and simple letters (S, L, N, T, R) and you make words with them; you use the points from those words to buy more unusual letters that score more points and/or have special bonuses. Lots of fun.
