Had to leave New Kitten with friends for a few days (travel scheduled before she fell into my life). I was worried about how she'd cope with it.

She has acquired three new human slaves^Wservants and is unafraid of the two resident adult cats, so I guess that's working out...

She likes us but is slow to allow anyone else around. The little one we have is timid but friendly and definitely adapts better to new people, animals and surroundings. My husband jokes that the older one isn't just a cat but is mixed with something not domesticated. She cuddles with me though so she's domesticated enough.

Mama's around, still eating the food we leave. Lot of yowling so I'm worried that she may get pregnant again soon; when we get back from visiting family we'll have another go at trapping her.

Yeah, one of our friends has an ex-feral who was adopted at four months and he's very wary of people so I'm glad ours is turning out so easy-going. It'll be a lot easier to arrange holiday care etc. if she can deal with new people.

My hair is for some reason really cute today. Wavy and full, with no product or anything put in it. I'm sure that'll change as soon as I go out, seeing as it's absolutely pouring outside, but I'll enjoy it while it lasts.

I went to the hair dresser to day and had mine straightened and then straight haired women's curls put in. It makes sense to me. It's funny to watch curls try and drop out of my hair .

As I left I took a shower cap and a scarf from my hand bag and made a sort of African inspired headdress before heading into storm Barbara. . I normally just head into weather without umbrella or accoutrements but not after having my hair made to fit in with society expectations for a ridiculous amount of money.

( what amazes me is how much blonder I am with straight hair, not in the leas mouseyish but really very light blonde with strawberry hints still. They look lovely! It's fun seeing them. But still, I am A curly haired person through and through.

Straight hair has more surface area to reflect light which is probably why it looks lighter. I'm a natural blonde and my hair always looks lighter when it's straightened. Your highlights probably pop out and become more noticeable when you straighten it.

The thing I love about having my hair straightener and then curled is that I can sleep on it and wake up having it look even better the second day, no combing, nothing. Just roll out of bed and shake my head, little bit of finger straightening. And it gets a sort of.. heavy feeling to it. I have a hard time keeping my fingers out of it And I have totally put a trash bag over my head to dash around outside in the rain. No question, I have no pride when it comes to just having dropped a load of cash on my hair!
