What made you smile or laugh today? Part III

The college that daughter has applied to has ticked the 'potential Oxbridge candidate' box on her form :D

I'm pleased that she's going to get the opportunity to apply to Oxbridge, but if she decides it's not for her, then that will be fine. My views on those universities are mixed, but I'm delighted that she is considered a good enough candidate.

This made me smile, too. Both paragraphs, in fact. :rose:

This morning I met some really lovely people at a local event I was cooped into. As we were making introductions I realised the woman next to me was really nervous of public speaking and we'd been chatting and swapped numbers and she'd been a little emotional already. She started to shake a little and I reached out to offer her my hand and her smile of gratitude was incredible. It made me happy something so easy, so incredibly easy, could make her so much happier. :). She silently offered to hold mine while I spoke, but the Elle holds the floor quite well 😏 She mentioned also she is really struggling with fatigue and stuff so while I cannot help with that I offered to go through with her over coffee some of my simple things I do at home which may or may not work for her :)

How nice you crossed her path! Serendipity at its finest.

:rose:

I had a giggle today listening to two guys discussing Pashmina, which they obviously knew nothing about and yet were highly impressed by :D

So fun

Watching my two grandkids meet for the first time. The girl is 10 months, and the boy is 3 weeks. They are cousins, will be best of pals in time; I guarantee it!

Found a nice sports bra and looking forward to testing it out. So happy my new mental health management strategy is working (or seems to be?) and I actually look forward to doing things again.

A caracara just flew past my balcony, and I almost killed myself rushing outside to get a good view of it. So beautiful!
This reminds me of a story from way back.

When I was ultra-young (under 8 for sure) I was climbing a tree and about 3/4 of the way to the top I had an unexpected encounter with an Atlantic Puffin. Unfortunately it flew off after seeing me.

I don't know what it was doing so far inland since they're coastal birds, but I don't remember seeing a nest or other dwelling so I guess it was just resting.

A decent sports bra is most satisfying.

WMMSOLT was helping foster better communications between people.

And then eating three different kinds of ginger biscuit. Three! :D

So many things, but most recently a long shower, clean face and a soft bed.

And the fact that my feet aren't killing me despite my stupid decision to wear heels on cobble stone. Prague taught me nothing.

I think you were dreaming, that's obviously a cartoon bird :D :D

I smiled unexpectedly when I got a bemused grin and a wink from a very scary looking guy. I guess I looked a bit intimidated  :D

I had a ridiculously long month at work, crazy hours, barely got to see or talk to the ones I love and care about. I thought I might need antidepressants I was so down by the end, but February came and I now have normal people work hours and holy fuck it's amazing. I had a half day today, I ate lunch out! I smiled like a fool as I was going to town on my tacos then I went and got a massage and this tiny pregnant girl tried to kill me with her hands, deep tissue is legitimately deep, holy fuck. Then I went and bought expensive colored pencils that I've been lusting for since middle school and a sketch book. I can't wait to use them/ hold them and smell them.

It was a good fucking day, I needed it so bad.

Two nights ago, I was camped by an Ozark river. The fire was good, the weather mild, the stars bright, and the whiskey perfect. Still smiling...

Two days ago, but anyway.

Guy ahead of me at the post office was applying for a new passport. You have to provide your old one when you do this. He'd brought his in a plastic shopping bag, in tiny little pieces. Seems somebody's new puppy had found it and did a very thorough job of destroying it.

But apparently they were willing to accept the mangled remains as documentation, so they were able to issue him a new one.

(Mama Cat update: starting to settle in at foster home, carer says she's coming along well so far.)
