And all they gave me was Elavil, those bastards!
Yo my dudes, I have learned to crochet by accident!!!! The key to happiness has been ditching all instructions and just following my gut instinct and logic. I can’t believe this is happening.
So far I’ve made a tube with a thumb hole, so maybe I can turn this into a mitten somehow? It’s not perfect, but damn, it’s better and more complex than what I’ve ever managed to do until now.
You know, when I worked in the old place, the office would get really cold in the winter sometimes and some people wore wrist warmers like that. They are wrist warmers!
As the try to save on heating in offices and homes the demand will soar.
Don’t make them mittens, make a fortune!

I already mittened up the one I posted, just the thumb is missing. But I’ll definitely have to make some wrist warmers for myself now with this newfound waffle skill I possess. I don’t think I’ll sell any because that means I’d have to be able to make a matching pair and just the thought of that is completely laughable.
But Bunny totally should add wrist warmers to her Etsy repertoire!

Yay, seela! That looks great. Much better than my first attempt at a pair of wrist warmers, lol.
I actually really like making them. I just haven't put any in my shop because I only have my hands to use to size them, and I have giant ape hands. So they'd be way too big for most people, lol. But I do like making wrist warmers, especially with a matching hat or matching ear warmer!
bacon jam
You can’t just put those two words together without further explanation?!
There isn't much more to add. It's jam...out of bacon. Bacon jam.
It takes awhile (like 45 minutes I think, but I'm not using much heat so it doesn't burn).
omg. this has to be a recipe from a grandma in the Southern United States!

You cut the bacon into small pieces, then fry it properly crispy. It takes awhile (like 45 minutes I think, but I'm not using much heat so it doesn't burn). Then remove the bacon and drain the fat. Then stew the onions with the garlic and two tbsp from the bacon fat, add the whiskey and reduce it and add the other stuff. Let it simmer for a moment, add the bacon and reduce it further till the right consistency.
- 850 g breakfast bacon
- 250 g shallots
- 2 Spanish onions
- 4 garlic cloves
- 1 tsp smoked paprika powder
- ½ tsp pepper
- 2 tbsp Sriracha
- 120 ml Whiskey
- 120 ml maple syrup
- 60 ml balsamico vinegar
- 125 g brown sugar
This will give you about 6 small 120ml glasses full of bacon jam.
