What made you smile or laugh today? Part IV

This is painfully accurate, lol.

I fell off one of my horses one time and broke my hand (practicing, not at a show) and had to be talked out of getting back on.

When Miss Althea started riding lessons we soon realized that most of the parents were horse people themselves or at least the moms had been horse girls as kids.
Mr Althea and I both like animals, were not afraid and were willing to learn along with Miss Althea and help out with heavy or too high up stuff, holding or leading horses etc.

I had the horse step on my foot once when
leading it across the stable yard, with Miss Althea on it’s back. I had my Dr Marten’s on but they aren’t steel toed and the horse put the hoof rather high up on my foot, gliding off it to the outside. In all, not the nicest feeling I’ve experienced.

Afterwards as the kids were having their lesson, one of the other moms asked if I shouldn’t take the boot off to asess the damage and I asked if she was crazy and pointed out that I’d never get it back on and that I still had to drive home.
They all laughed at me and she asked if I was really sure that I wasn’t a horse girl.

I've been around horses all of my life, but have never been too interested in living the life. I do have one horse story that always brings a smile to my face. One day I was driving home on a County Road, dirt not paved, and encountered three kids on horseback riding down the road. They were followed by a dog, which was in turn followed by a goat. I wish I had a picture.

I think I have the picture in my head, actually.

Let's hear it for those who know who know who they are and what they like and can set limits.
