What will history say about Trump?

[A]ll the initiatives he advanced and won on polled landslide public approval.

Despite being the target of Democrat lawfare for years, a defiant Trump promised to end an open border, massive illegal immigration, rising crime, and soaring prices. He pledged to slash government and its administrative state, terminate racial and gender identity politics, and restore deterrence abroad.

The people overwhelmingly wanted those messages but were waiting for an unorthodox messenger who would actually deliver them.

The Trump messenger reassured weary citizens that they were not crazy.

Instead, they had good cause to be sick of being talked down to by a media, academic, bureaucratic, and political elite that never earned nor deserved such self-appointed status.

For years both parties ran on pledges to 'do something' and when they got into office they did diddly squat and the folks that just want to go about their lives got fed up.

The same unrest is fomenting over in the UK....................except they've allowed themselves to be disarmed.

They just barred trans women from bathrooms. Wtf are you talking about.....this Congress is obviously the most successful at fixing everything in history!

A team of Canadian researchers, in a study of 125 countries, identified the Covid vaccines as a significant contributor to excess deaths and concluded the shots provided “no apparent benefit.”

“The countries that were most vaccinated, that had the highest vaccine uptake, end up having persistent excess mortality into … 2023,” Joseph Hickey Ph.D., one of the lead authors of the study by Correlation Research in the Public Interest, told The Defender.

Anybody that had been paying attention to the REAL science coming out of Europe, and primarily Germany, would have known that early on in the cycle. But far too many people allowed themselves to be steam rolled by politicians, primarily dems, drunk with power. NEVER AGAIN!!!

What will The Left put on the record?

You can lump Jon Stewart in with Bill Maher, along with those on the Left who can be somewhat more reasonable in these times. Stewart has been known to drop devastating segments against CNN’s incompetence and all-around strangeness, especially during the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing. Both men have taken blowtorches toward Democrats, with Maher calling the current iteration of the Democratic Party a royal family that’s become so incestuous that they’ve produced “retarded” children.

Stewart opted to take a stab at the Democrats' extreme coping antics, which have veered into embarrassing territory, like how Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) listed few new members of Congress, making sure the bean-counting diversity checklist was mentioned for the record; Ma’am, you lost the election. Who cares? The part-time Daily Show host described liberal America’s reaction to Donald Trump’s win as a total “s**tshow” (via The Blaze):

Does the Republican party have any relevance to how the Democratic party decides to move ahead?

Dancing on graves is fun....

Yet there is no evidence of any serious self examination taking place among the 'true believers.'

I think it's an anti-clockwise rotation brought on by the coriolis effect. A very powerful force acting on weak minds.

Are you suggesting that this isn't happening? Are you suggesting that you are performing any analysis of the party in a way that makes you qualified to make this statement?

Let's go past that - even if they did have that "self-examination", do you consider yourself an objective obersever of their actions?

This is one of the stupidest posts I've seen today. Well done 👍

I never thought of that comparison, probably because the puppet thing.

It is a little creepy...

In a surprising turn of events, Trump’s pick for AG turned it down.
He went from God’s appointed Warrior for Truth and Justice to “ I wanted to avoid a protracted confirmation hearing when our Country needs action.”
Somehow I think Mr. Gaetz prefers to avoid spotlights at this point in time, for whatever reason.

Someone on X put forth the theory that this was Big Daddy’s strategy to oust Gaetz from politics altogether;
To get him to resign his position and put him under scrutiny in the public eye. I don’t know if I can give
Humpty that much credit..

Trump is no dummy. Which is why I suspect his economic policies have a hidden agenda.
His ‘let’s streamline government (de-regulate) free up capital (cut corporate tax rates) were tried by Reagan and GW Bush. Both popped bubbles and triggered bailouts funded by taxpayers. The real estate crash in ‘08 to the tune of $750B. That’s a healthy dose of Socialism wouldn’t you agree?

Capitalism works. It’s the best system we have to produce commerce..
It’s brutally unforgiving to the imprudent. Our brand is not. It has been softened by lobbyists and lawmakers fond of ‘fact-finding’ junkets.
Steve Ballmer said that it is the role of Democracy to inform Capitalism. Right now it’s the other way around.,

If he (Trump) just manages to Make the Military Proud Again,

then America will truly be safe. Our army is the people.

All of which is to say, Democrats need their own Trump – a wrecking ball who will challenge the party’s dogmas; a disruptive outsider who can force them out of their ideological cul-de-sac. The radical transformation Democrats need seems beyond the capacity of the party’s entrenched leadership: To expect people who cannot admit error to change their minds and ways seems like wishful thinking. They probably don’t need a Trump-like figure to win elections, but they need one to find a way to govern effectively. This would not require abandoning progressive ideals, but developing new ways to actually achieve them.

This will not be easy. As a spur, Democrats should consider the fate of their allies in the legacy media. The partisan, left-wing turn many news organizations have taken in the last decade has undermined the trustAmericans once had in their reporting – while contributing to shrinking audiences and mass layoffs. That failure is a major reason millions of Americans are turning to alternative outlets, including X, Substack, and podcasters such as Joe Rogan, for news.

Political parties are not subject to the swift and ruthless forces of the market. But Democrats would be wise to see the decline of their media allies as a canary in the coal mine. It should inspire them to begin a true process of soul-searching and change for their own good and for that of the nation.
