Aaargh! I'm going to need that sauce recipe to round out my collection! :p

Does moose taste at all like beef? Or buffalo, lamb.. anything?

You're gonna have to pry it out of my cold, dead hand!

It tastes gamey. Kind of like deer, but deeper and more beefy too. It also depends a lot on the cut and the moose's age how it tastes, I've noticed. The baby moose taste more beefy I think.

Is it available there to buy?
Or do you know someone who hunts?

*practices prying*
:D

It's available here to buy, but not everywhere by any means. I know people who hunt so that's my moose supply.

Ok, rather like javalina (what we call the wild boar) here. You can buy it here and there, but not everywhere. I have friends with traps that will occasionally supply me with meat when they get a surplus. Or they want me to cook for them :)

The meatballs were good. :)

If you ever end up making them, use something fatty to bulk it up. Some people mix moose/pork, but I prefer using just moose and adding smetana to the meatball mixture instead of liquid. It's a very lean meat, so something fatty is needed.

On the menu today was lentil stew with eggs.

Lunch was smoked-turkey quessadillas with queso fresco, sharp cheddar and a side of fresh snow peas and carrots. Not the fanciest of lunches but it was super tasty.

I would love to try moose! So far, only venison and bison has graced my freezer, and my lips.

Lunch today was left over steak in a tortilla with pico de gallo....heaven.

Hmm something simple today. Yellow lentil soup with lots of spices like cloves, cumin, turmeric, cinnamon and black pepper maybe with some rice. Might help with the cold

Made Chili with a recipe from allrecipes.com. In the ingredients were a bottle of dark beer, a tablespoon of cocoa powder and a cup of coffee. Unusual but intriguing. Turned out to be very tasty. It went well with some cornmeal muffins I made.
