Just picked up Sane Sex Life & Sane Sex Living published by the Eugenics Publishing Co. (copyright 1919) at The Strand yesterday. I'll let you guys in on the scoop, once I start reading.

The name of the publisher alone is a gem. Wow.

Yep, I know. I look so very asian, right?

The majority of the reason why I identify as such is a combination of cheerfully taking whatever advantage I can scrape out of Affirmative Action, and the ability to make race jokes with some impunity. I do not particular find myself identifying with some Japanese-american underclass. Or over-class. Or any class at all.

Hell, I don't think I even know a single person of Japanese descent that I'm not related to. I look like a white dude with squinty eyes and a good tan. Oddly enough though, as I've probably mentioned before, there was a 19th c photograph of some rasty old Japanese dude in full armour that was somewhere in my ancestry, and, wow, you could see the resemblance. I'd need to grow a LOT more hair and beard, but it was there.

As DNA is chemically measurable it's unlikely.

There is not, to my knowledge, a distinct difference between the genome graphs of various "races". There are just various shifting markers that assemble a variety of complex traits, and those traits are not consistent enough to mark a serious mechanical difference between the "races".
