Why is obesity so prevalent amongst BDSM practitioners?

I can only imagine how hurtful it is to listen to the "give her a sandwich' BS every day. Why can't we just stop the general animosity toward every body type?

Thank you for saying this.

I'm thin and it hurts my feelings when people make comments like this.

I was no less "a real woman" at 130 than at 178. I was real sick, too.

I used to live in SF, and I had a playmate who looked about like you. When she walked around naked, it made my penis water...I'd pull her onto my face and lick her till she begged for mercy.

I'm not a BDSM guy, really. Except for really liking watching girls like you pee...

I cry at the wardrobe because I can no longer fit into it & having a really hard time trying to get back to that size... ;)

dito here - i don't know what happened, but i swear when i turned 30 i suddenly put on about 10 pounds a year! i long for the days of my size 8 wardrobe! i tear out the labels of every single piece of clothing i own now - - i can't stand knowing the sizes! i can not afford a gym membership but i have begun walking more lately & have begun to eat more organic foods in an attempt to return to my former size.

i see that lady from nutrisystem ("i went from a size 8 to a size 2 TWICE!") and want to kill her! hmmm - - - - yeah, nothing repressed there.

sigh.

Boy - do I hear you loud and clear... it's insanely frustrating. Sometimes I even have thoughts of going back to smoking... At the moment I am gymming like mad and trying not to eat more than 1000 calories a day... we'll see how it pans out. Thank god I'm being really stubborn about it and just NOT giving up.

Please be careful. 1000 calories a day is hardly anything and you could actually be putting your body into "starvation mode" which means you won't lose any weight at all because your body will hold on to every last bit of food that you give it. You will also retain water like nobody's business, which will make it look and feel like you have gained weight.

Yeah - thanks, HottieMama. I will keep a close eye on it because of the amount of exercise I am doing... This is a trial and error phase I am going through... just trying to find something that works... (and I have tried sureslim & weightwatchers, with very unsatisfying results). If this doesn't work, then it's "Body for Life"... though that will be a last resort as I believe that it's REALLY intense.

Also, if you're looking at any sample of people in the US...size 14 in the AVERAGE in women, that's where plus sizes begin, folks.

Its interesting the way you use the word average here.

Whether size 14 is obese or not, the way you've argued this appears to imply that most women are a size 14, and are therefore not obese - because that's the average size of American women.

At least, that's how I read it when looking at the context of your post.

As though obese and average are mutually exclusive terms. If I read that the way you intended it, by that logic, if most people happened to be a size 22, they wouldn't be obese either, just "average".

I am a size 12 and I think I'm hot shit in a champagne glass.

Wearing your weight well with confidence can make any woman of nearly any size, 0 or 20, sexy.

It also helps that I've got great legs. :nana:

Wearing it well mitigates any "weight issues" for me.

I agee with this, but for a different reason. BDSM'ers already know they are considered freaks by the 'normal' or 'vanilla' world, therefor they feel no need to conform to weight standards either.

.

I don't consider myself a freak. It's not a normal's person's business what I enjoy.

Because I'm glutenous little piggy who sits around and eats ding dongs and ho ho's all day. Oh and pie.

Depends on where you're getting your demographic from as well. An online community such as this one is generally frequented by people who spend a significant percentage of their free time sat in front of a monitor for one reason or another. We're at the geeky end of the kink pool and that has a bearing on average BMI IMO.

The kink pool is at the geeky end of the human pool. A significant percentage of kinky folks are geeky (or a significant amount of geeky folks are kinky, whatever), online or otherwise.

Because the same redundant things are being said as the LAST time I read through it, which was a long damn time ago, lol.

Mostly because it's one of those topics that has no answer and the opinions are pretty much either overweight people being defensive or non-overweight people being judgemental. What's the point?

There are overweight people everywhere. There are underweight people everwhere. There are old people, stupid people, nice people, jerky people....etc etc etc.

The thread is over 2 years old. That's why it's time to move on. The horse is dead, buried, rotted, disintegrated, and turned into worm food. There can be no more beating.
