Why it is important to doubt the gatekeepers....

if its off topic to your point sorry but it makes me think of this and its from six years ago

i don't do much "social media" but if there's something out there thats supposed to connect me to things i like based on my searches and interests it on those platforms i do use (you tube and twitter) its not working well.

I will say this, I don't get any beforeitsnews.com or media or Breitbart links in my searches. I don't need any though...I get plenty of that shit here

Not to mention most of that is either copypasta from main sources or just plain shit that pretends to be journalism

I am going to give my two cents on this subject. The news media should report the facts on each story they cover and let the viewer formulate their own opinion based on the facts. The news media should never give their opinion or report information before verifying it is correct. In this day and time, the news media all try to beat each other to the punch to be the first to report on a story to the point that they do not verify the facts. That is a huge problem regardless which side of the isle you stand on.

As I have stated in other posts, I have dealt with the media personally. A couple of examples. One day I get sent a newspaper article from a city that is not near where I lived. I read the article and the reporter quoted me to my surprise since I never spoke to the individual. I could easily verify that because I have always kept a phone log.

Second example. I was involved in a story. Three different news agencies covered the story. The next day I looked up what each reported about the story. All three had different versions and all three were incorrect. Again, none of the reporters involved ever asked me a question.

Third example. I am involved in another story. TV reporter comes up and does not identify herself. Based on her actions and lack of awareness of the situation, she clearly did not understand the event she was covering. She did interview me. She tried to get me to give my opinion, but I just stuck to stating the facts. The part of the interview, a very small fraction of the overall interview, that went out on the news made it look like I was the bad guy.

I will say that each reporter is different and like any profession, there very good ones and very bad ones and a whole bunch in between.

Just my two cents as to why I do not trust the media, why people need to do their own research, and why you need to keep an open mind, use your common sense, and be reasonable in your thoughts.

The news media should report the facts, period. With no spin and no distortion. News Media should be neither "Right" nor "Left" nor "Conservative" nor "Liberal." Any media source that unabashedly calls itself "The Pro-Trump news" should automatically be dismissed as outright propaganda rather than news. (and I've actually seen such a source blatantly promote itself as such, and two guesses who it was who quoted from it on this forum!) Same as if there was a "Pro Kamala News Network!"

The problem is, many news media will blatantly distort facts and lie outright to promote an agenda- publishing unproven (and sometimes debunked!) ideas and theories as facts. Fox News is one of the worst offenders here, but there are far worse even than that- OAN, NewsMax for example, and sometimes MSNBC has been guilty of showing some bias.

Yeah. Thought so.
This weak sauce answer in addition to ‘liking’ a meme from a member who is a known misinformation artist if not a liar has spoiled the Kumbaya you and I were having.

As with all subjects that you come here to talk on, you again show that you have no leg to stand on to be considered credible.
Once again, deflecting. Because to actually engage on the subject is.... hard.

🙄

Really???

🤔

Explain your "EASY" process for proving things that are clandestine in nature. (Corporate monetary influence on outlets like “All Sides”.

I’ll wait.

I did give the litmus test in the opening statement of the thread. Maybe read the topic and premise and what is presented before commenting. I'll wait.

I am talking about what I have observed to be true for some time. It's just pertinent in a world where, especially with an election so close, issues of who is controlling the information flow and how much we can trust them (almost not at all) become of central importance. And if there are studies published that make the point, they should be seen.

And notice the response here. No, "This isn't true. I did the tests myself and here are my results." No intelligent response to evidence presented of a huge problem that needs addressed and talked about on the merits of the claims. Nope. Just a personal attack on me and an attempt to cast doubt on motive. I don't engage on such meaningless levels.

So I go back to the easy challenge. Prove me and the claim wrong. And show your work.
Personal observations are one of the least effective ways to conduct research.

MSNBC has SOMETIMES been guilty of showing bias?!!!! They, along with everyone in the "legacy" media, do nothing BUT push bias and prewritten narrative! NewsMax came into existence for a reason. No one else in the media would report a story that didn't toe the party line! Yes, they have a blatant bias, one that drives me crazy at times. But at least they are open and honest about it. They don't pretend not to have a bias. Your "legacy" trusted media? Good Lord! If you can't see it you really have downed some Kool-Aid!

I don't care what some liberal PHd claims. The "elite" among politics, education, and society are the very problem! You are citing an "expert" who is saying, "We aren't doing what you claim. There is no gatekeeper in tech or education or anything else. Trust me to tell you the truth." These types are asking us to believe them, not our own lying eyes.

Seriously, stop avoiding it and run the experiment. If I am wrong, prove it, and show the screen shots. I will gladly concede my point if you show me wrong from actually doing it instead of trusting others to do the work and accepting their results.

The fact that none of you libs will run the simple test but argue against what, if it is wrong, is easily disproven, is saying more about your position and the problem with this country than anything else out there.

Everyone has a choice of search engines they use. I literally don't give a fuck which one you use. Computer illiterate people don't get my sympathy. They likely have newsmax on in the background 24/7 anyway

1. I’m not a liberal.
2. True liberals are a dying breed.

Its pretty common for guidelines to be issued in large group settings. this can be something as simple as "no smoking or alcohol on premises" or "we need all of you to run down the street screaming for a background cut scene make sure you aren't wearing any watches" so i can get there might be some sort of "group protest director" that will instruct the chaff what to say in a situation like this even though it looks like most of them are just there to protest just to protest which relates to all this.

what's disturbing is stuff like this. where the kid immediately denies any vandalism while people are vandalizing everything around them.

someone above them is telling them to purposefully break the law and to deny it. whats going to happen when these people give the go ahead to just start murdering people.

look at that kids stance. the way he gripped the object in his hand. if that reporter pressed for just a few seconds more he would have been hit in the head. its where everything leads to. its where they want it to go.

and then you notice things. take george floyd for example. the media couldn't even agree on his age. you think tv media that can orchestrate such synchronicity when discussing a threat to democracy can't factually report a guys age are going to honest about any other details? its there to help confuse you. How many illegals do we have? 5 million,10,20? changes every time. "pissing on you and telling you its gold" comes to mind. the whole "spies who lie" fiasco. showing a picture of a murderer when young.

These aren't Harris supporters or at least they aren't now.

JaySecretions is a fucking imbecile:

The content of the video that JaySecretions just applauded / approved undermines nearly EVERYTHING in the OP

Corrupt right wing bias and gaslighting is FAR more pernicious and pervasive online AND in the MSM.(radio, television, newspapers, magazines, etc).

And, as has been pointed out by others here: MOST of the MSM outlets that JaySecretions and other RWCJ "members" constantly refer to as bastions of “the left”, are ACTUALLY corporate owned - so hardly bastions of “the left”.

I never said YOU are a lib. I said the PHd you are citing is a liberal whose word I don't trust any more than Kamala Harris or Joe Biden, and that people blindly trust this lib's very biased, falsified information research, and say don't trust your lying eyes, trust him because he is smarter than you.... That is the very problem being pointed out

Aaaaannnnd.... STILL no actual research and proof done by you against my statement and the evidence presented by the cited source. I am not letting you change the subject no matter how hard you try. Put up or shut up, my friend.

SCREW JAYSECRETS AND ALL THE OTHER TRUMPERS HERE!

Captain Obvious comes here to tell us about search engine bias - no crap, Matlock!

Every FREAKIN day here is a test of who does and does not believe media lies, bias, and misinformation and, whaddayaknow, guess who consistently and repeatedly FAILS?

Every damn day good and honest members have to tap on their keyboards and dispute people who are never embarrassed nor shamed by their displays of ignorance to outright dishonesty. Obama's birth certificate, death panels, they're coming to take your guns, did Russia interfere with the 2016 elections? Time and time again we have been given clear and factual sticks to measure truths that if asked today some (guess who?) would still FAIL.

I need not even go back to the early 2000’s. Just this morning there’s the ‘Harris is the Immigration Czar’ thread.

My friends, I refuse to entertain the thought that I need to look up the allegations of one Tara Reid to test my judgement from people who I could almost forgive for supporting the lying, elderly rapist, but I refuse to give them any air of credibility when they ignore numbers from the Bureau of Labor in place of a ‘gut feeling’ that the ‘real’ unemployment is 42% or inflation is over 50%.

Apparently you have not been to the grocery store or work in retail. Those of us who actually have to deal and trade in those inflated prices.... You know what, nevermind. You have not only chugged the Kool-Aid, you did it with a blindfold on and you have forgotten how to untie the knot.

Back to the topic at hand. ANY of y'all have the balls to actually take my challenge, do your own verification, and prove me wrong? I am, according to you, a stupid, brainwashed ignoramus. Certainly this is going to be the easiest bet of your life.

Unless you KNOW your side is lying but you are so committed to the lie that you have to keep defending it.
