Winter Holiday 2024 Contest Support and Seasonal Story Discussion Thread

Here's the thread: https://forum.literotica.com/threads/2025-virtual-literotica-conference-story-idea.1623589/

I thought of that, but made it a hotel to keep things a little more confined. But, of course, there are really no other constraints. I don't like creative rules -- just set your mind free!!! So, although it's technically a hotel, that does not preclude any of the activities and/or settings that you described. There could be "excursions" or there could be an abandoned mine shaft a couple blocks over. Whatever!
To keep consistency between the stories written by different authors, there should maybe be a minimum description of the layout of the place (hotel or resort) where it is happening. From this initial location, contributors are free to add additional places adjoining the existing place but it must be coherent with what has already been laid out. And subsequent contributors will have to take in consideration what had been added by others before them. This is where a moderator or a group of moderators could be helpful to keep up to date with how things are at a given time.

I edited the original post on that thread to give some guidance on that. I am hesitant to add much more than I did because people will want to write their own stories. If we start saying that the hotel lobby is white polished marble with gilded gold accents and there is a bank of elevators to the left... Then authors will start to feel like they need to follow those rules and their story may need different things. And as far as going with what another author already set out, well, now we have the problem of someone labored for three weeks on a story only to find out that so-and-so paired up with someone already. Now their entire story couldn't have happened. The conference is virtual (and make-believe) so why can't everything be pretend? Let's weave some magic with these stories!!!

Also, we should try to move this conversation over to that thread.

Sorry, @Actingup ...
I've just pushed the publish button on my Winter Holiday story...
So I hope it doesn't mess with your graph.
It's been hell of a slog...
25k words, short for me !
But it has been great fun..
"Love And a Pantomime Donkey"
should make it in time.
All about Susan, a jobbing actor whose career needs a boost... But not quite like this.....

Sadly I am not going to make the deadline. Too many words to edit and too little time. I had far more family obligations than expected over the holidays. Plan is to break my story down into smaller pieces and release over the Christmas period

Good luck to all who made it in !

I can't wait to read it!!!! Only 25K of Nelly will be just a taste of paradise but still worth the price of admission...

A Cowgurlz Christmas is up today in I/T. As Christmas break begins, a sassy red headed college student named Emma takes her boyfriend, Colt, to her west Texas ranch in order to meet her parents. But Emma’s overly protective mother ends up showing Colt a lot more than just the ranch.

LOL have to smile, today's entry started off quite nicely, sitting with a respectable 4.56 out of 56 votes after seven hours. Thirty minutes later, 4.48 with another 10 votes scored and now dropping by the minute. Someone lacks some Chrrrrrrristmas cheer :sneaky:

LOL. Well, the deadline to submit is: December 6 at 11:59pm EST and I'll be....writing down to the wire. Again. LOL.

But this one is not a candidate to win, LOL. So I won't be embarrassed. It IS fun to write tho. Honestly, I have no idea how I write this stuff. It just appears in my head.....

“And now,” Father Auyeung says, turning, smiling. “Let our Celebrants cast aside their robes of innocence, for they have displayed their purity of spirit and their unadulterated love for Holy Mother Church. Husbands and fathers of our Celebrants, please come forward and reveal the sinful nature of your wives and daughters, for over the course of this Mass, they shall serve all men here as Vessels of the Magdalene, leading us into temptation and yet delivering us from evil, for tonight our Celebrants will sin as they satiate every desire you may hold within your sinful hearts, and yet their sins, and ours, for we will sin freely with our Celebrants, will be the sins of love, freely offered and freely taken, forgiven by the Lord through the intercession of the Blessed Magdalene. Come forward, husbands and fathers. Come forward and unveil the sinful temptation of your wives and daughters to the Brothers of the Order gathered here tonight, that all here may succumb to the temptations of lust and desire and yet be forgiven through the Intercession of the Blessed Magdalene.”

rotflmao. And as for the explanation of the Miracle of the Eucharist, transubstantiation and the Seed of the Lord - honestly, I snorted my coffee a few times. It's one of those stories where I haven't been able to stop laughing while writing. And let us not mention Pierre Teilhard de Chardin....or Father Giovanni Savonarola and the Borgia's.....

With you all the way, I'm just here for the ride too :giggle: 🚑

So I submitted, before the deadline even! Had to take a day off of work yesterday because it turns out writing ten pages in a day pulled a brain muscle (feeling better now), but I did it!

The "publication date" on my pending story says "Dec7", which is after the submission deadline (Dec6) but before the winners are announced (Dec13). I still qualify for the contest, though, right? I'm not even totally sure how voting for the contest works.

Sorry if this was posted elsewhere, I'm still new at all this. Thanks!

Your still good for the contest. It's a deadline for submission, not a deadline for publication. Entries will keep showing up for a couple days after the contest closes.

You’re fine. I submitted this morning and have a publication date of Dec. 8. The tricky part is getting enough votes to qualify in a short period of time, so do what you can to promote it.

It used to be a real struggle for nearly everyone to get enough votes to qualify prior to about 2010. We often had a dedicated thread for people to post their links specifically because they were struggling to hit and maintain 25 through the near daily sweeps.

Pretty much nothing outside Incest and LW was a safe bet to qualify. Even authors with large followings could find themselves begging for a few more votes near the end.

Oh? I should be good then. Incest AND LW. LOL
