I am very self concious about my body so I don't think I could do it. Would I do it for the money? It would have to be a lot of money and I would have to need it really bad and really quick. On the other hand, I think I could stand to be on the other side of the camera and direct a porn movie. In fact, I wonder how one would get into the biz on that side?

It obviously takes a certain mindset to be in front of the camera. You obviously can't be shy about being naked and have to be somewhat confident about having sex on camera. I think the male actors in particular have to be of a different mindset than the general public- if not, they wouldn't be able to perform on camera. That being said, I think the female performers have to have a serious exhibitionistic side to themselves as well.

Not that I'm complaining one bit. I love the fact that they feel comfortable enough to be in front and for us to sit back & watch. More power to them. I'd like to think I have a little bit of an exhibitionistic streak in myself but not to that level.

I am bumping this fine thread back to the top in order to keep the conversation going and to add an additional question that I am curious about. Are there woman who had really not seen much porn or had any interest in it, until their partner brought it into the relationship? I think some people (not only women) are more sexual by nature than others. I know I have been always. I knew at a very young age what sex was and that I liked it. I was also raised to think that it was a natural thing, although my parents are of the generation that did not speak about it if they did not have to. After my mum found a drawing I made that was somewhat "sexual" she sat me down and asked why I made that and then explained some more. That was it. Porn was something that never was discussed (I'm sure my mother would never watch it... not so sure about my dad ) but I found out soon enough it was 'there'... But to come back to your question....

Although I was not very shy about sex I was shy enough to not go out and get the porn myself. It took a boyfriend to introduce me to it, so to speak. On the one hand I consider myself to be very liberal but on the other hand I know I am also kind of old fashioned (maybe not the right word). In some cases (concerning sex but also other things in the relationship and real life) I like certain role-confirming 'things', if you know what I mean...

Maybe it's because of how I was raised and the fact that I liked the way my parents had certain responsabilities around the house that made my dad the 'big strong dad' and my mother the 'caring, loving mum'. It may sound dull to others but I like cookie-baking mums and dads that take care of putting the trash outside on Sunday nights... things like that. I also like a man to be the aggressor in sex more than me. But then again I like to 'surprise' him and 'blow him away' by being the naughty girl when they don't expect it.

M and I watch porn a lot together but I still like him to initiate or suggest it first. It's not that I would be ashamed or anything, it just feels better to me.... somehow.

Talking about hit and run... haha... Sorry to have taken so long to respond to your reply but I have had the good excuse (ahum) of being away on holiday. Returned a week ago but my mind is still there.

Anyway.... I'm also very selfconcious about my body; I think most women are. In my mind I could do it (be a porn actress) but in RL I could NEVER do it. It's more that I can imagine the nice looking women to be comfortable with it; also with their sexuality.

I could, however, be like you behind the camera I think. Also because I think there's lots to improve sometimes (haha, I'm like that and that's what triggered this question/thread in the first place I guess). What you said about the couple on the talkshow.... I can totally imagine how that went! I can also sort of understand the reactions from the public. Most of it comes from their own fear and insecurities. I must say that on the one hand I can totally understand how it could work for one couple if they were very comfortable in their relationship and had a different attitude towards sex than I have ( I say different, not weird of wrong)... I even think that as beautiful as we think some of those porn actresses are, they're still somewhat self conscious about their bodies too. They might be a little less inhibited about having sex on camera but when it comes to body image, I think deep down we're all a little insecure- and that can be a good and bad thing. I do enjoy watching porn on occassion, although on other occassions I find written erotica much more sexually stimulating. I'm not sure I watch enough of it to have a specific favourite "genre", lol, but I do find it very hit and miss with whether it will be stimulating.

And for erotica I obviously frequently here... and for free video clips that are of the "ok but not great" quality I go to pornhub.com or redtube.com. They're nice, small clips, and they have some good categories. They also let you list posters by name, so if you find something nice (like x-art) you can see what other "x-art" like posts they have.

I am a male responding to this question. My wife will watch porn with me the typical porn is two male threesomes and anal, especially if we are in the US.
