Yank's Free Range Turkey Trot Warming House and Bondage Barn

I marched yesterday and I plan to get more politically involved from here on out. I will endeavor to keep my politics out of the barn, but I feel as if this might be something of a sea change for me.

This is key. Hopefully the march is just the beginning of staying politically involved. Starting local is critical.

Good for you!

One of the outcomes of the organizing done for yesterday's marches is this effort to help people get involved as citizens. While the organizers are the same people who put the marches together, the mechanism they set up to encourage political action is not aligned with any particular ideology. The idea is that you use their resources to take action on issues that matter to YOU. Maybe that's some aspect of support for women's health care or about restrictions to civil liberties or restrictions on second amendment rights. Whatever, you choose. In my view, our democracy gains strength as more and more people voice their concerns. Even when - possibly especially when - those concerns are different or oppositional. What matters to me is involvement because that is what grows our democracy.

I hope you have a good time.

Enjoy! Let us know how it went!!

Woohoo! I hope you had fun!

Thank you!

It went very well. It was a small group and there were three other people who were there for the first time, so I didn't feel too awkward. I kept in mind the advice of 'keep talking' and moved to several different spots to talk to just about everyone there. This is so out of the norm for me, I'd rather sit in the corner and observe until I feel like I know someone.

So, all in all it was great! :rose:
