Yes, the top 1% DOES pay it’s fair share (and then some!)

Cite for this. He's on record saying he hates paying overtime. Or regular time for that matter.
It’s amazing how uninformed some of the left wingers on this board are. Trump’s “no tax on tips, social security, and overtime” pledges have been covered extensively during and after the campaign. If you’ve been under a rock, a quick search would have returned plenty of citations. Here’s one.

He's said both things and like usual, trumpets are burdened to interpret his bullshit. Good job, you're swallowing it whole.

I think all three exemptions are a bad idea and I seriously doubt any of them pass Congress. But the fact is, he repeatedly campaigned on these and they were covered extensively. Amazing that this is a surprise to you.

Is this the designated thread for the AceRebelWat morning staged discussion? 😄

And if course the discussion can be about “fair”. Or effective. It all depends on the goal.

The US had a top marginal tax rate of 90% for a long time after WW2. The economy boomed and there was far less income inequality than now. Real life examples are enlightening.
but the minum wage was like a dollar an hour

It's not a surprise to me, you dolt. He's said both things. You chose to run with the one that sounds the best while admitting it's a bad plan that likely won't pass.

The only thing that surprises me is how you 🤡s continuously debase yourselves to defend that human waste.

Your words dumb ass.

If Wat is paid, he will not revolt.

He will still be revolting, however.

As for me, I want a new cabinet position.

Department of Reeducation of Political Defectives . . . .

Pro tip about cabinet positions:

Put the old ones from the kitchen remodel in the garage. The landlady gets her new ones and so does the curmudgeon under the bridge.

Bottom line:

DonOld and the MAGAt republicans are going to cut (gut?) requirements for businesses to pay overtime - so the “no tax on overtime” promise is basically moot.

The “no tax on tips” promise is a pittance, as tipped workers already claim the bare minimum and are usually in the lowest tax tier to begin with.

The “no tax on social security” promise would reduce federal revenue at a time when there is a need for more revenue, and it doesn’t really address any glaring need related to inflation, climate change, national security, immigration, healthcare, etc, etc.

All of those ^ things are / were red herrings that low education/ information voters were distracted by to get their vote.

Expect tax cuts for the rich and corporations, and not much else. (Cuts to social security and Medicare will also be a priority for DonOld and the MAGAt republicans.)

Once upon a time, Wat installed cabinets in all sorts of positions. He was hoping that, this time, he could be installed. One hundred pounds drawer slides are verra important.

Greed and envy are one of the democrats stock in trade.
The politics of envy and class war are the Democrats' strongest issues. As long as the Democrats exploited both skillfully the Democrats dominated the United States, and the national debt as a percentage of gross domestic product declined. Real after tax income for at least two thirds of the U.S. population has declined since the inauguration of Ronald Reagan, while the wealth and after tax income of the best paid 20% of the population has risen.

Just because they approve of their own theft doesn't make it not theft.

It's ROBBERY and extortion actually.....the government takes under threat of violence.
What makes it theft is its involuntary nature in the taking.

von Humboldt warned against edicts from the grave (wills) and that is what the tax code is now.

The theft is perpetrated upon those who did not vote for the indentured servitude.

They, and the need for it, are long passed.

You're quite correct although not quite for the reason you have asserted. It all goes right back to Pareto's Principle. Trying to use a tax code to circumvent the law of 80/20 doesn't work.

My god, how insipid.

You cannot spend what you don't have. Those with little to no income PAY NO TAXES because they have little to no income. These people cannot "stimulate" the economy because they don't have any money to do it with.

The kicker is that somewhere in the back of my mind a little voice is whispering that you're going to come back and tell me that these people should get a gov subsidy and they can use that for your stimulus idea.

Which is just more insipidness piled on top of your hair brained financial offering.
Which is why I clearly said the bottom 20% of tax payers need to be taken out of the system. So good to know an eagle eyed lawyer is reading the documents. :D

No it is not.
It is a necessary taking; taxes are.
It is voluntary because you are absolved of taxes on basic necessities (the prebate) and you do not have to purchase anything big ticket new and avoid the tax which is merely a replacement for the myriad hidden ways in which government skins the cat...

If you have an intelligent, knowledgable (informed) rebuttal, I am happy to play along....

The moment we let Lois Lerner off the hook was the moment the Republic felt the Brutus knife in its back.

The power of the IRS must be destroyed as the tool of tyranny and division that it truly is: a political weapon.

ALL Americans, of ALL political stripe should have been of like mind over the abuse of power but MY TEAM won the game to the detriment of their paying (captive) "fans."

The FairTax is also involuntary taking. Nobody has ever voluntarily offered, “I’d like to pay more sales tax, please.” 😄

They can choose not to buy.

It's not a direct tax on one's property or labor (the means of production) and that's what makes it arguably the most liberal way to tax. And since everyone is paying the same rate on whatever consumption they desire it's also the fairest. No wonder the very notion triggers Democrats.

Those who produce value get to make more....that's how it's supposed to work. This isn't the SOVIET States of America comrade.....equity of life outcomes isn't the objective here.

Very much so.
It eliminates targeting the "rich"
and shielding one's true intentions behind the "poor."

I have said that.
It is hard to constantly regurgitate everything, but I have this morning elaborated already on the nature of voluntarily paying taxes and the FairTax.org, probably elsewhere.
