To our utter astonishment he doesn’t seem particularly interested. On the other hand he has wiped out the mantel and shelving multiple times.
But of course, you've placed stuff on his regular path!
My wife uses a Mexican hot chocolate that’s quite tasty and not especially sweet. Can’t remember the name but it’s a yellow and red package.
Sounds interesting! All the ones I've seen are too sweet.
Then again... American things tend to be even sweeter than what is sold here, so not sure it would be less sweet for me... (I've seen dinner recipes where I'd half the amount of sugar and other sweet things to begin with, and then see if it's edible.)
Continues to blend her own hot chocolate powder with less sugar. Shops sell 1:4, I'm doing maybe 1:2,5

Most Mexican chocolate is much less sweet then the typical US style chocolate- which is admittedly, very sweet.

More excitement this morning: A mouse got in someplace and was scampering about. Winston caught it and started to do his cat thing. Then my wife and daughter were screaming and crashing through the house to rescue mousey. Much chaos followed but my daughter scooped up mousey and tossed him outside. I need another cup of tea.

I'd be all...

He's not happy, he's still looking for it. But I don't have the heart to see him kill and behead a mouse.
An old friend had a mouse come in the house via the same route as water pipes, so she called their cat in. It didn't take long of course, the cat was a Very Experienced Mouse. And he started eating on the kitchen mat... She though "eww" of course, but if you have to call the cat in to do the job, you're not throwing it out to eat!

Instead, you wash the mat and renovate the route where the mouse came in.

Phew. I think I could use a drink after errands. Wish I didn't have quite some things left on my to-do list.
