You probably liked Gerard Butler as the Phantom. 😁😳

Yea, you better run!

Why is the eye roll emoji not a reaction yet?! I like the stage productions better of almost every musical, including Les Mis. Gerard Butler, Ben Platt, Amanda Seyfried and Russel Crowe (among others I'm sure) should not have been cast in their respective screen roles in the musicals they appear in.

But, again, I liked how they did this scene in the movie, which is why it was my song choice 😝

I was the best phantom I know. FYI.

Day 2: A song about war

One of my favorites. A song from Hamilton about the early months of the war, when the colonists were mostly on the losing end of things.

"I have never seen the General so despondent
I have taken over writing all his correspondence
Congress writes, 'George, attack the British forces.'
I shoot back, 'we have resorted to eating our horses
Local merchants deny us equipment, assistance
They only take British money, so sing a song of sixpence'"

I always love the call back here:
Washington: "Stay alive ‘til this horror show is past
We’re gonna fly a lot of flags half-mast"
Hamilton, Laurens, and Lafayette: "Raise a glass!"

"Stay Alive," Hamilton (Original Broadway Cast)

Day 3: A song tied to a memory
This was the first that came to my head. A very good friend told me years ago how she'd been serenaded by a biker singing 'lay lady laying, lay across my BSA'
I giggled then and I'm smiling now.
(BSA were a British built motorbike, for those who've never heard of it)
