179 I was 5 months in hospital unable to stand. Had 10 weeks intense physio at a spinal injury hospital. Been home since October. Having to live in my living room as cant walk up stairs. Been waiting for stair lift and grab handles to be fitted. Local authority takes so long. Standing and walking has got better but still need a wheelchair when outside

Once you get to walking, practice the walking. Get your legs moving, be upright.

Get comfy and do the stairs.

Takes months, but you shouldnt have atrophied so much that you can't handle the stairs once youre walking. Hold on tight, preferably with someone nearby in case you fall. Keep your cell on you.

Dont give up, 1 hour of being able to stand is infinitely better than 0

Yeah ive been walking around living room every day with a walker. I have managed the stairs with crutches but it still takes it out of me. Standing isnt a problem nkw. I can stand quite easily without support. Its just getting my legs to move properly. Ive got spinal cord nerve damage. Loss of sensations from wasit down, constant pins and needles in feet.
