I have a hard question coming up next week but for the weekend -

How do you utilize the Follow feature on New Lit/Buddy Lists on Old Lit? How do you determine who you follow? What would make you unfollow someone? Do you even pay attention to it at all? Do you notice when someone doesn't follow you? Is gamifying social interaction healthy anyway?

I generally don't use or pay attention to it, though I have some people on those lists. Maybe it's because I'm in and out, but I don't recall what specifically prompted me to add any of them. I just interact in threads mostly.

I don't much use the Follow feature. Mostly because I simply forget it's there.

The gamification of social media and the assortment of social media "scoring" mechanisms are generally unhealthy in that it draws the persons attention away from the interaction and sends them on "score seeking" behavior. Not the experience I care for.

I didn’t use the buddy lists on the old lit. Sometimes I subscribed to threads but I didn’t really check the notifications. Now I think the follow feature is useful because you can adjust your privacy settings so that people you don’t follow only have limited access to message or see other info about you. Not perfect, but I have liked the extra layer of privacy in the past.

Ah, that’s how that works.

I really only follow myself and responses to my witty insightful erotically charged posts.

I don't use any of that stuff at all really. And I say that and somehow I see that I follow people. I think that must have come from the old buddy list system. I don't game it. I don't Fb. Barely do LinkdIn. I got other things to do than play social media games. Not trying to be mean or anything. It just really isn't on my radar.

You can follow me though. I wear a nice cologne so I don't stink the place up too much. I don't shed as much anymore either so that's a big plus!

You know, one thing I don’t get about the new lit is the “similar threads” below.

The algorithm is a strange one. I keep getting the “if you be my dom/master i'll be ur sub/slut/slave & lick your arse everyday...”. Like why?

I don't know half of my followers, and I'm being generous.
I don't pay much attention to it.

I only follow litsters I’ve had sex with.

On the old Lit, I would simply add other Liter I liked and that I had exchanged PMs with. Other than that I didn't think about it as I don't have things here set up to notify me when someone posts or a thread I follow receives a new post. Things really haven't changed much with the new update in any of the above.
Insofar as the unfollow or block... only if someone falls into a category of the best practice being to avoid interacting.

I think I 'follow' a few people, and a few 'follow' me. I don't know what that even means, though. All the other stuff are things I don't grasp or have any interest in.
