I think I should let a poutine lover answer this question. I think I've seen both.
Milk gravy or sausage gravy? IDK, I've had both on hash brown potatoes before which was different, but not bad.

It’s a brown gravy most similar to the brown gravy one would eat on mashed potatoes, but I don’t think it’s milk based. The consistency is different.

I had the best poutine with a Litster, actually. Funny enough, not with the Canadian I saw so many times, but with @Miles Long.

That coffee thread? I like the idea of would you meet a Litster for potatoes! 😂

Actually, no, not really. I use the air fryer at home. Deep fryer is a restaurant thing. I am the king of backyard barbecue, though. 👑
I do the same, air fryer at home, deep fryer at restaurants. I made beef short ribs and fries in the air fryer last night with excellent results. My dog was dancing around on her hind paws while the ribs were cooking.

Ah!!! I see. Brown gravy doesn't always taste the same. I'm ok with it on an open-faced hot roast beef sandwich but less so on other things.

They are like loaded nachos but instead of tortilla chips, you get “potato barrels” aka tater tots. Lol. They’re at Woodys Lunchbox

I see. I would be okay to engage with those. Although I don't recall that restaurant at Disney, so it must've been somewhere other than Magic Kingdom. As well, this was ten years ago or so when I last worked there. I feel if these where there during my tenure, I would've sought them out.

It’s at Hollywood Studios. But yes, highly recommend to ‘engage with’ 🙂

These tater tot things, are they made from grated potato (like a hash brown) or mashed potato (like a croquette)?

I quite like a nice rosti

The ones I've seen here in the UK (labelled as Potato Crunchies) are grated potato.

Yes, they're made from grated potatoes. And while calling them tater tots is universally used it's a copyrighted TM or at least it used to be.

Grated and mixed with a bit of onion, much like hash browns. I usually buy them frozen and prepare as needed or wanted.

Oooooh do you put salt and vinegar on them? They look really yummy!
Most people just use ketchup on them, but it's kind of a find out what tastes best to you. I like either ketchup or chili sauce on mine. I can make do with salsa or queso dip too. You either eat them with a fork or with your hand, it just depends on the setting.
