🎅☃️❄️Ho-Ho-Holiday Movie Showdown🎄🤶📽

The winner of Battle #8 by technical knockout (11-5), The great white hope, White Christmas. Winning with the second highest number of votes in the tournament so far, it tap dances into the quarterfinals to face Scrooge while A Christmas Story goes home to drown its sorrows in Ovaltine. Well that does it for the first round, so let's continue with our first quarterfinals bout.

Quarter Final Match-up #1

Scrooged

vs.

Die Hard

In the corner to my right, a movie that barely slipped past Elf to be in this round, Scrooged! And in the corner to my left, fresh off a TKO against Nightmare Before Christmas, Die Hard! It's the battle of douche bags (Frank Cross and Harry Ellis) getting their minds changed... though to be fair Ellis had his changed to pudding... Let the quarterfinals begin!

Miracle on 34th Street.

I'm not sure I've ever watched any adaptation of A Christmas Carol, unless there's an old B&W version. 🤔

Found it!!! 1938. I've seen this one!

Muppets every time.
It has no business being so good but it's made with heart and Caine certainly poured his into his performance

i dont even know what the rules are or who is facing off with who at this point...but based on the last couple responses give me...

With only a few hours to go and only eight votes in, this quarterfinal is a tie. If no other votes come in I will make the final decision, which I really don't want to do😅

The winner of the second quarterfinal, by the slimmest of margins (5-4), Miracle on 34th Street. Trully two great, much loved contenders. I'm sure we are all crushed that there will be a vacant place at this table, a crutch without an owner, carefully preserved. Now on to the third quarterfinal.

Quarterfinal Match-up #3

Home Alone

vs.

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation

In the corner to my right, having beaten the Santa Clause in a split decision and certainly the favourite to finish this match like a cheese pizza, Home Alone. And in the corner to my left, with humour as sry as Catherine's turkey, beaten and bloodied, having suffered equal parts hate and indifference at the hands of the crowd in it's last bout, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. Let the slaughter begin.
