The Next Full Moon is a Supermoon, a Blue Moon; The Sturgeon Moon; The Red, Corn, Green Corn, Barley, Herb, Grain, or Dog Moon; Raksha Bandhan or Rakhi Purnima; and Tu B'Av.

The "super" part refers to the moon's orbit, which brings it slightly closer to Earth this month, making it appear bigger and brighter. The "blue" part means that this is the third of four full moons this season, an unusual occurrence that won't happen again until January 2037, according to NASA.

NASA says a supermoon is a full moon that appears larger and brighter in the sky than a typical full moon.

This happens because the moon is at or near its closest point to Earth in its elliptical orbit, a position known as perigee.

The super blue moon's spiritual meaning varies from culture to culture, but is often seen as an omen of growth, wisdom and new opportunities.

The lunar cycle is shorter whenever a blue moon occurs, so it signals an acceleration of life.
