2008 News & Views: Discussion and Announcements for the Survivorphile

Okay, I wrote almost 1,400 words yesterday, and almost a thousand already today, and it's only a little after 9:00AM.

But, more important, today is Saint Patrick's Day! ERIN GO BRAGH.

Better yet: :D ERIN GO BRALESS! :p

There's a story idea.... 600 yr old, braless Erin marching down 5th Ave.... tripping over her tits.... ummm, nnnevermind

Yes that is exactly what would happen if I went braless.
What the horny guys who are breast obsessed don't understand is unless they are fake, big breasts are saggy, especially when you get older.

Has there really been no activity here since 3/17 ???

Erin, you know I didn't mean YOU. Of course I meant the original Erin who went Bragh before she went braghlesss! You know, the one with the black & blue tits.

You are too cute LitEroCat.

Yeah it's been quiet here. I went back to work so been pretty busy. Trying to find time to write is hard.

Help, My photo is too big to download?

Hi Princess,

I read a while back that you were having trouble adding your photo. How did you do that? I'm having the same problem with size.

I thought it would be easy to download a photo, but when I try I get an error message that the photo is too big.

I want to upload my dog, a Rat Terrier, that I named Scouries.

I figured I try you before I bothered Manu.

I'm not much of a computer geek. I know how to use Word, E-mail, and accounting packages. That's the extend of my interest in cyber world.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Freddie

If the picture is for your Avatar, it can be no bigger than 150 x 150 pixels. You can adjust the size using MS Paint or another picture editing programme. Simply reduce it to the correct size and you will be able to upload it with no problem. :)

True. Or you can use a program everyone should have, IRFANVIEW. It's a nearly universal viewer/player/image editor that's fast and FREE. Go get it.
If you like, you can send me the pix and I'll shrink it for you, but it's better if you do it. :cattail:

Lou... or Rach.... I meant to report a problem with your AV. There's a defect you may have missed. The model (you?) has a crack running all the way across that otherwise cute ass.  Superglue can fix it!

Thanks

Thanks for your help Rach and LitEroCat. I used Corel draw to reduce the photo. It's quite easy to do, once I figured out how to use the software that I've had since I bought the computer (lol).

Good luck to all those entering the Earth Day contest. I can't wait to read some of the stories.

Rach, I voted for two of your stories in separate nominated categories. You're a winner in my book anyway.

BFW - glad I could help

LitEroCat... if I superglued (my) arse together, I think I would have a few subsequent problems! :D But thanks for taking the time to examine the defect in great detail! ;)

Always happy to help, Rach. ;) You 'll let me know if you need any further, or hands on, examination and pampering.

I must rant. I love to rant and I am aware that as in real life, most people will ignore me.

I have been compared to SamuelX and BFW. Someone commented on my BDSM story by saying that.

Now after screaming and swearing I am better. I guess this is what happens when I write a "tame" BDSM story. I'm not a rough violent person and can't seem to write those types of stories. I think I must have angered the gods of BDSM.

O.K. rant done. Oh wait no. I didn't win an immunity yesterday either.

O.K. now I'm done.

Erin
My BDSM stories aren't all that different from my E/C stories. I just write abut people getting off better when they get spanked, or are tied up. There are exceptions, but that is the rule.

Erin, I feel your frustration. On the other hand, it's good that you were able to think of a BDSM story to write!

I've only written two. The second got no comments at all and is languishing in the mid to upper 3's. It's about a woman who can't stand not being able to see, whose Dom blindfolds her and makes her use her other senses to figure out what he's touching her with. Admittedly, not a great story. The first one was for the Valentine's contest; it's in the low 4's and got a couple of nice comments. I think the first one did better than the second because with the first one, I didn't realize it was BDSM till after I wrote it.

I didn't win an immunity either!

So hey, how's everyone been? I haven't been on this thread much lately.

Tame (?) BDSM

My Subway Slut story could be considered BDSM since that's involved. Yet, it's really a kidnap and revenge story. I submitted it late last year, but it was rejected for violence. It grew long enough to break in 2, so I found a spot to break it and leave the reader in suspense.
-Would she escape/survive/be rescued?-
I left it so you couldn't tell for sure, but placed a few hints in part 1.
After the 4th rejection, I decided to combine it with part 2 and make it a novella. I'm leaving a pause where part 1 ended, but it does lose some impact with the answers coming too soon after the questions. Oh well.

It's one of 5 open stories sitting at 90 - 98% done. Too many distractions fixing PCs, plumbing and freeeeeeezing!

Oh, and I didn't win immunity either.

hey all,

Boxlicker - see I thought that was what BDSM meant, but I have pissed someone off :(

Karenna - hows work? I'm so busy at school it's crazy.

I'm so happy it's the weekend. I can relax, sleep in, enjoy time with my family.

Erin

BDSM varies from an affectionate spanking or tying up to enhance sexual pleasure,:) to a carjacking a woman, followed by hanging the naked victim from the rafters and whipping her bloody while the guy jacks off. That latter example would probably be rejected for excessive violence, but it is an example of BDSM.

To be honest, I actually did write a story much like that second example, but it was rejected and is not available here. There was a lot more to it than just whipping, and there was no sex, exept rape. That was not my usual story.

Bash away. Here we go again.

Since when is 3,000 words considered a very short story, especially when the person who wrote that comment has suddenly become the queen of very short stories ranging from 950-1200 words. Now, if my 3,000 word story is deemed very short, then her stories must be snippets.

You sent me a PM looking to forget and forgive and your idea of forgiving is to bash my story. What is it with you people, first darksideoflunacy and now you, Erin.

Non-erotic? They have a non-erotic category on this site, do they not? Not everything is about sex and not all of my this story is non-erotic.

I'm glad that I have no pretentions of winning any contests around here because I'd be a fool to think that I'd be given a fair chance, especially from my fellow writers. I can see a reader who doesnt' know me giving me a low score and writing something as idiotic as you wrote.

Please stay away from my stories and I'll stay away from you. Okay? I have enough bashers without adding you to the list.

Never have I ever bashed another writer's story. It's just wrong. I know what it takes to create, develop, and write a story and for someone like you who should know better, well, obviously you have some serious mental issues that you are trying to resolve by lashing out against me.

I thank you for the support of your vote and for taking the time to write a comment.

Personally, I think of 3,000 words as being a rather short story. Some of mine are that short, but the average is about 5,500, and I have some that are more than 12,000. I'm referring to single, one part stories, not to something in two or three parts.

I agree. Most of my stuff is around 10K. A lot of the later chapters in Montana Summer were 20K+ .

Has anyone noticed the quirky pattern in the number of daily readers? I looked back at the last few months and found some surprises. I expected the number of readers on and the day before a holiday to be VERY low. Instead, the numbers were higher than average. Then every once in a while, there's a hic cup! On 3/27 my total readers dropped to about 1/2 of normal, but yesterday it was 11 times higher than that! Why? It was mid week, no holiday. If it's about workers relaxing online, why the big diff?

Has LIT done something to attract more readers on those high days? Or were the numbers not updated consistently? The average of the two days is still about 7 times my usual daily readers so any delay would have to span a few days.

It's NOT because I had any new stories listed, though I have seen the benefit to that.
I haven't done an in depth analysis and don't plan to. But it does strike me as odd. Maybe it's just about the life patterns of the LIT readers?
Any thoughts?

Haven't paid any attention to it myself, but could it be weather-related? Seems parts of America have been getting some serious stay indoors weather lately.
