2008 News & Views: Discussion and Announcements for the Survivorphile

Actually, when I look in the mirror what I see is that I'm still muscular from all the years of exercise. I still have my hair because of my dad. Yes, I have the gray touched up. Buy, definitely, I don't look my age.

I don't eat TV dinners. Too much fat and carbs. Besides, I wouldn't give that to my dog.

What I see is a guy who loves to write and who now has the time to finally pursue his passion.

Now, that I have wealth, now that I no longer have to leave my house to work, I can do what I want when I want to do it. Apparently, Danielle, this is a luxury you can only dream about.

I won 38 million dollars in 1990. I setup my friend in a real estate venture. He makes retirement homes, gate communities, and apartment living, condos and such. He is the biggest independent real estate developer in the United States.

I got out of that business 6 years ago before all this mortgage shit hit. Now, I'm doing what I want when I want to do it. And believe it or not, this is it.

I'm not a bad guy. I'm very generous with my time and money. I give a lot of money away.

Now, I'm serious about leaving you people alone if you will leave me alone. All I want to do is write and to post my stories without having them bashed by you people. That's it.

For that I promise to never venture out to the forum boards. Hey, I think it's a good deal.

Now, the only reason why you wouldn't accept this offer is if you enjoy all this drama. For me, it's a distraction and it takes me away from my writing. Only, I don't know if you noticed, but even when I leave a message, such as this, I'm writing. I never leave short messages.

So what do you all say? Can we hate one another from a distance? Can I continue on writing my stories with the knowledged that I won't be singled out?

I'll tell you what, as a sign of good faith, tell me what you want as a gift for your birthday and I'll send you a little something? Okay?

Just e-mail me where to send what and I'll take care of everything else.

Have a pleasant evening.

I've told you before I don't hate anyone. And, again, you're the one doing the bashing, no one else.

If you can't accept honest criticism, then maybe you should think about quitting writing.

Seriously this is better then when my grade 9 girls have a hissy fit when they fight over boyfriends.

BFW - I am finding most of your comments and statements to be very rude, disrespectful, and a form of harrassment. Please stop.

So far you have told me to shut up and that I talk too much, you have made a rude comment about my avatar, you have stated that my honest feedback on your story is bashing and totally ignored the nice comment I made about the second chapter. You have mentioned my name in a few other posts in a negative way. Please just stop talking.

You have also made some very rude comments about other people and I'm not sure why you have not been banned. Harrassment, even online, is not allowed.

Erin
He does it because he can, Erin. He's like the little boy who plays up in class as soon as the teacher's back is turned.
He needs the attention and knows no other way to get it than to be obnoxious.
These boards (even the ones with moderators) are effectively unmoderated. There are very few rules and anything goes. They are a teacherless classroom and attention-seeking little boys will play.

Bye

Is that your answer Darkside? You want to continue this?

You know, I've heard from mutual friends of ours, two in particular, who I won't mention here for their sake. They told me that you aren't a bad guy. Actually, they like you. Only, they also told me that you don't have much of a sense of humor.

Now, I'm not bashing you. I'm only telling you what they told me.

I'm realizing that many don't get my humor. I think there's something in the translation. I dunno, it may be my Boston accent (lol).

Now, I'm willing to stop if you will.

All that I ask is that you refrain from posting any comments to my stories. Yes, I understand that I'm a terrible writer and a no talent hack. I concede that point. I can't write worth shit. I agree with you. But...must you tell everyone that?

Let's stop this so that we both can get on with positive thoughts instead of negative. Okay?

Can I walk away from here now and continue with my business?

I'm going. I'll never appear on the forum pages again. Okay?

I'll see ya later. Bye. I'm leaving. Take it easy. Have a nice life. So long. Merry Christmas.

(By the way, I'm still serious about the parting gift if you want to take me up on it. Christ, I have more money than I know what the Hell to do with.)

You're the one being negative, not me.

You raise a pertinent point here, Starrkers. I've read all four chapters of his Earth Day submission. Chapters 2 - 4 are all in Erotic Coupling, and there wasn't a thing erotic about the three chapters.

Then please make sure you utilize the "report this story" button at the end of the story and report the mis-categorization.

Thank you

Thank you, CrimsonMaiden. I've already taken it upon myself to have the stories reclassified as Inter-racial stories.

They can't be interracial either if they don't have sex.

BTW Boston, I don't think the tits are that bad considering their age and number of kids suckled.

Bye

Hmm...well then, maybe you should stick my stories in the non-erotic category. What the Hell is erotic about a naked woman anyway? Absolutely, nothing. Definitely, non-erotic. All of you should go complain, then, that my stories are posted in the wrong categories.

While you are at it, feel free to go through my score sheet and move whatever you think are in the wrong categories and move those. I trust your judgements.

Actually, it doesn't much make a difference to me where you put the stories. The fact that I'm writing them is the important thing. Besides, I'm going to have so many freaking stories by year end, it won't matter if they are all moved over to Non-Erotic (lol).

Thank you so much for watching out over me. I appreciate it.

Okay, I'm done here. I have lots more writing to do.

Bye. Nice chatting with you all.

If I'd known my tits would scare him away that easily, I'd've dragged the saggy old things out before!

Boston doesnt, and that is DEFINITELY worth knowing ;)

Time to put them away now, before I frighten the children...oops.

I wouldn't count on it.

I wouldn't count on it either. He's always saying he's leaving, but he always returns. I think the characterization of BFW as being like a little boy was an accurate one.

ETA: By the way, Starkers, I don't think I have ever seen your breasts. I find Erin's cleavage to be quite alluring, but I have never seen yours.

You missed them, they were magnificent!

Is he really gone? woohoo!

O.k. so back to more important things.

Hows everyone doing with their writing? Does anyone have any specific goals relating to the survivor contest? My goal is an average of one story or poem a day for the year. What about anyone else?

Erin

My goal is to submit one story a day. I have a timeline of what story I'm supposed to submit when, because I'm working on several "chapter stories" and have to keep track of which chapter of which story I'm working on when. (Did that sentence make sense? It's only 5:30 in the morning and I haven't had my coffee yet. LOL.) I've been averaging writing 5 stories a week, and no poems because I've filled the erotic and non-erotic poetry categories, and we don't get points for any poems beyond the first ten, and I'm waiting to see if my lone illustrated poem is posted (I submitted it on February 13) before I write and submit any more. I usually work on two stories at a time, plus the teen sci-fi/fantasy novel I'm working on, so that if I get stuck on one I can move on to another. Most of my stories are too long to write a complete one in a day, though, unless it's a weekend when my kids are with their grandparents.

I can't post a cleavage pic; y'all would need a magnifying glass to see anything :( I probably should try to post an avatar, though... or maybe I'll just remain mysterious. LOL

I started Survivor without any particular goal and I guess I'm still going that route, but I do have a goal that will eventually add to my Survivor points. I have some series here on Lit that I kinda poke at and do a chapter here and there. I think I'm going to concentrate on completing them. Though I'll admit my Vampire one will be the hardest. It seems that my muse really struggles with that series, not because I don't like it, but because I enjoy it so much and want it to continue being more unique then most Vampire stories are.

Good luck everyone with your goals. :D

I'm new here...and my question is...where do I post my stories?

thank you

Just a reminder. Only stories that have already been accepted and posted are supposed to be added to your scorecard. Pending stories are not to be put on there.

Actually, the rules do not address when the stories can be added to the scorecard. While the points don't count until the story or poem is published, nothing in the rules precludes adding the stories to the scorecard when they are posted. Since we are encouraged to keep the scorecards up to date, it just seems easier to score stories as they are posted than have to scan the new stories and poems every day to see if any outstanding ones have finally been published.

Obviously any rejected stories or reclassified stories will require a correction to the scorecard but the contestant has until January to make those corrections.

I refer you to this post in the FAQ by Lauren.

I read that as a request and not part of the rules, however since I don't currently have time to track the daily publication of stories to determine if I can indicate them on my scorecard I guess I will just have to keep the scorecard up to date elsewhere.
