weekdays are better than weekends for me-- I really don't know that I could commit to anything on the weekend. I can't really concentrate. Right now a 2 year old in an elmo costume is stirring my leg with a pink teflon whisk

I too prefer weekday to weekend.
Its getting to be the time of year to get the garden and yard going again - not sure if I'd have much left in the evenings.

I like Mar 3-4, it's a week from this Wednesday. I'm okay with my team, but I wish I had a chance to scout secret talent and come up with surprise guests. Two teams of four is more likely, I don't think ten people will be ready for this extravaganza. AnnaSwirls has to be on my team.

Wednesday March 3rd at like six in the morning Eastern Standard would put the time in the middle of the day for the English. This shouldn't be too much of a problem, you'll have two of every part of the day, so if you're a night person or morning person you can do your thing.

Alright, if you're going to drop out or drop in we're still trying to make these teams. I'm not even sure Tzara said he's even going to play, AnnaSwirls is on the fence because of time, DrewBerryLess I don't know who that is really. Five on Five or Four on Four is probably how it's going to look. If we get 9 or 11 people that want to play for sure I'll just ask someone to be a judge.

I think I know each of your styles because I've read your poems, DrewBerryLess is the only exception, but that's cool, he/she is a WildCard. If you don't want to be on someone's team or think the teams are unfair PM me. I think the teams are fair, that's why I made 'em. Charley and EPMD are both strong poets and from what I've seen excellent organizers of poets. This doesn't have to be the order you write the poem in either, you can even talk over team strategy before you get the details for the contest.

I guess March 3rd and 4th is what we're aiming for.

That should be doable. I can usually work around the children once they come home from school. I work nights, though, so I will be going to bed around 7pm Eastern time (I believe that's GMT-5, I always forget) on the 3rd. It would be the same on the 4th, but I will be headed to New Orleans late that afternoon for Epicon.

You'll save some time if you're familiar with it before the contest starts. Wikipedia is fine, you just need to know the story, the two main characters.

So far, we are one person short of the number of people in team 2. The Fool keeps posting, why isn't he on my team? I want the big guy! *rowr* Plus, he comes up with great poem titles, and I'm sure he can come up with a better name for us than simply 'team 1'.

It's times like these when I wish Lit had a private forum for team contests. Fortunately, there is something called Facebook. To cut down on the number of PM exchanges, to strategize and criticize and to help each other out along the way, I propose setting up a closed FB page with only the team as members. You don't have to join the group with your RL Facebook, you need only take a minute or two to set up an account under your Lit Pseudonym. How say you all?

2010 Team Poetry Olympiad? It has the Greek mythology, multi-nation competition... Oh man, it would've been a real Olympiad if the teams were U.S. or North America vs. England/Europe.
