2025 Virtual Literotica Convention Story Idea

So, is this about characters attending a Literotica conference or is it about authors attending a Literotica conference?

It seems like you're kind of saying both?
I'm envisioning both. Why not? It's our world to do with what we please!! Break down the fourth wall and all that!!

Just to help youse out, you might wish to get hold of @Nouh_Bdee

He's facilitated several stories set in a shared fantasy world, Leinyere; we spent a good deal of time worldbuilding off-site, which made everything run smoothly once we all started writing tales. He had a shared Google Doc, to which we could contribute all our ideas, which became something of a "Bible" for the entire continent, its industries, its geography, its gods and goddesses, its various species, etc.

Based on my experience in Leinyere, you'd probably benefit from something similar: a floorplan for the common areas of the resort, say, and a map of the immediate area. A dramatis personae. Those things would help immensely with your own ease of writing.

Good luck! Look forward to reading these.

Why not indeed. But the idea of authors attending started as a little joke (more a humous comment) that there be a comp for stories involving a charater that has the author's pen name (eg (or actually ie) Freya Gersemi) in response to a comment about winning a challenge.
It has grown by throwing off those bounds into something far more wonderful and free.
It clearly has potential as authors are engaging in the very idea and so something is bound to happen.🤞🏼 Please!

Okay. To make this simple, let's say that the hotel is the Washington Square Hotel in New York (can we use an actual name or will we get into trouble with the hotel?). So, it's not a make-believe hotel in a make-believe city. Then everyone has the same setting (do an Internet search for the hotel, pictures, rooms, amenities, surrounding neighborhood...). And if things go well with this challenge, then there would be a different location next year. Does that work for people?

I like this idea. Anyone can search the hotel, the neighborhood, etc. Doesn’t require any additional world building. We could call it the Manhattan Grand or something similar. I happen to know that hotels do not necessarily appreciate being featured in erotica.

That's what I figured. I have a made-up hotel name already in a made-up city, so I'll just go with that. But the hotel will just be modeled after the Washington Square Hotel. Google's great. I can pretend like I've actually been there or something! I just searched famous New York hotels and that one looked cute from the outside!!

The idea of turning myself into a character is intriguing, but I do kindly ask that no one writes me into a story without consulting with me, first.

However, if you are interested in appearing in a story that I would write, please let me know. If you follow my work you know that I frequently post in the NC/R category, with a strong emphasis on the reluctance aspect. I have the first inklings of a story idea where I meet authors that don’t approve of the category and I try to convince them otherwise (with a third party, not another author, unless you specifically ask). Spoiler alert: My plan succeeds, so if you aren’t okay with a story that begins with reluctance and ends in bliss, then you should pass.

By the way, I hope you’ll all attend my day-one presentation on Women’s Dark Fantasies: Reality or Erotica Construct.

That is written into the original post. If fact, it's kind of the main rule! 😀

I changed "conference" to "convention." That was the word I was looking for. I've never been to a conference or a convention. I don't get out much!

I’ve been to both, and they can be quite boring. I have a feeling this one would be anything but!

I’ve been to more conventions than I care to remember, and they’re usually held at larger, more modern hotels with a section specifically designed for meetings, sometimes multiple restaurants/bars, etc.. I respectfully submit this Marriott as an example.

Second edit: Guess I can’t post Google maps hyperlinks? I was referring to the Marriott Marquis in Washington, DC.

“What about you, are you gonna be there too?”
Why not, the works of an author and the author are like the wave particle duality.
Until you look, by using a story, it could be either. However, my particle nature is quite unlike any of my characters unless you know something I don't.
Alex and Bella would be up for it so would some of the characters from Reunion and the Orgy. Freya (no relation) from The Afternoon after the Night Before would certainly be. Opal from Stepsister and the Gang, would be, before she meets the the PhD student.

Seems like we have some authors already teeming with ideas. I suggest we find a way to indicate how to post the stories so we may find them easily. Who knows, it can inspire others to write their own stories?

just a thought… Many of these big hotels have space for multiple simultaneous conferences, although not an infinite amount. We could define several of these (or leave it open) to open up some interesting possibilities around first time / wrong room / shared room / nerd got lucky / non-consent etc.

If/when I get the okay to make this an official challenge, then there will be an official support thread and list and all of that fun stuff!

Have you opened a conversation up with @Laurel about this yet? That's all I had to do for my Midnight at the Lost and Found story challenge
