Use my Characters for the Virtual Literotica Convention 2026 Author Challenge

I'll offer my well-developed swinger couple, from my "Lifestyle..." series and other stand-alone stories.

Theadore (Let's just say "Smith" for a last name)
Always Known as "Ted"
Six-foot three inches, about 200 pounds, did some weight-lifting in college to maintain muscle tone.
He's now fifty-ish, with he and his wife starting in the swinger/sharing lifestyle in their late forties.
Salt & pepper black-to-greying hair with blue eyes.
He's rather quiet, but a confident computer geek, highly paid due to his high IQ. Although a geek, he can be talkative and even lead-dance when trying to pick up another woman.
He's straight, but not homophobic, telling one of his wife's boyfriends who made a pass at him "Sorry, but I don't lean that way." As a swinger couple, the wife sets the rules, her main one being "No closed doors between us!" (which she has sometimes violated.) The husband's only rule is "It's only sex, so whatever makes you happy!"

Janet Let's just say "Smith" for a last name)
Always known as "Jan"
Five-foot seven, about 140 pounds, does daily workouts on a home treadmill, and Friday thru Monday morning yoga classes. (See my "Unique Rewards of Yoga" series.)
She's fifty-ish, about the same age as her husband, and they met in high school and have been together since high school (with time apart for other experiences before marriage).
She has green eyes, and long auburn hair, often worn in a ponytail down to the middle of her back, but worn in a left flip-over style when she's being seductive.
She's very outspoken, always saying what's on her mind, and very flirty with other men even in front of her husband (Ted calls his wife's flirting her "favorite sport"). One story which best explains Jan is "The Maneater."
When they began their swinger lifestyle, she was VERY straight, not wanting to get with any couples having a Bi wife. But she's learned, and is now very Bi, sometimes even wanting some alone time with other women who appeal to her. When it comes to sex, at this stage of her life, Jan has done it all and DOES it all ... only when SHE'S in the mood (See "The Maneater!")

These next two attended the Literotica Convention 2025 in the stories “Convention Pt. 01: Star of the Show” and “Convention Pt. 02: Star of the Show”:

Linda has always been rather flirty and was always looking for boys before she married Byron. Before meeting him in her late twenties, Linda was into speed dating and partying even after college. She worked out to keep in shape at a 'fashion model,' man killer level to keep up with her best friend, Lana.

Byron is the tall, muscular, handsome, and dreamy-type, a 'money-man' behind the scenes for an ad agency fashion photo shoot. He's great in bed, but he was looking for more loving commitment than his short fling with the fashion model girlfriend, Lana.

Byron and Linda, got together in the story "Good Answer". They’ve been married twenty years before attending last year’s convention. That convention story ended with Linda being jealously monogamous, deciding she never wants to “share” her husband with another woman, even as he’s telling her a swinger lifestyle might be interesting. But Linda's exhibitionism at last year's convention was legendary (and all caught on convention video.)

If an author who I already know / talk to and who has read the relevant stories has an idea about how to include some of my characters in their LitCon story, then feel free to PM me. But you’ll need a reason why it’s my characters and not just some generic person.

Also please steer clear of any of my quasi-autobiographical stories, not least as I’d have to seek the permission of other people (something @Djmac1031 and I worked through last time around, but which was rather complicated).

Please also don’t pitch an idea if refusal might cause offense. I love all my characters and want to be sure they are treated well.

As I thought more about this, I have at least one more character that could be used and makes some sense in the right (wrong?) story, especially as it takes place in Paris.

Danielle Foussard
is the world's greatest cat burglar, the name sake of her grandmother, who is a character in the 50's movie "To Catch a Thief" (The one competing with Grace Kelly for Cary Grant's attention)
She is mid 20's and looks like her grandmother, slender build, very French features.

She only makes sense in a very silly comedy, as she appears in The Great Cupcake Caper. You would need permission from @NuclearFairy to use Danielle's side kick (and lover) Claire Fee but they make a good pairing. Claire has fairy wings and can fly if she is topless.

If someone wants to propose using any other characters in my other stories, I would probably be inclined to say yes, but I want to hear a rationale why that character. Most of my characters I write are introverts and unlikely to attend a convention like this.

You (the general forum member "you") dont necessarily need to be close friends with the author you wish to borrow from, like I am with @EmilyMiller but you should at the very least be familiar with their story and the character you wish to borrow.

I had a specific reason why I wanted Emily's character Amy to interact with my She-Demon character Cozbi. I didn't just pick her at random, I picked her because she suited my story idea.

I would be fine with others using her. Or most of my characters if you're so inclined. Just shoot me a PM for anything you want to use.

And Amy is a fan of Cozbi, so it all worked out.

@HelenL might be fun for Val and Suze to turn up. Or perhaps have Of Darkness play.

If I had any single characters I'd offer them, but they are all coupled up.

Alex or Ann remain unattached (They Were Roommates) and mostly absent, either might enjoy a change of scenery and should be developed enough to connect with. Alex is laid-back and makes questionable decisions, especially when high, and is bi, so could have a wider range of options than the others. As for you, most of the others are coupled up and monogamous.

Oh. Michelle the rock star might be available with or without the band, since she and her not-partner are definitely not monogamous. (The Player, tagged "commitment to no commitments".) (But lesbian, not bi.)

I’m open to lending out Madison, “Mads”, and Nate depending on what you’ve got in mind. My focus with them is on romantic erotica, the emphasis is more on the former but that doesn’t mean there’s little sex. (It might be a little vanilla by comparison to some characters on Lit but that characterization covers a lot of ground). They both had emotionally abusive first marriages that they are getting over with the love and support of the other. And then there’s the banter . . .

If you want a sense of what the characters are like, take a look at the first three stories, (all prefixed by “Mads & Nate”), Once More With Feeling, Closer to You and Seasonal Affection. Closer is probably the best to use if you only read one to get a sense of the characters and their relationship. None of the stories are particularly long; two are 3k words, the other 4k. They can, of course, be found at my story page

Like I said, if you’re interested in borrowing them let me know and we can go from there. (They’ll be at the Con anyway in a totally meta capacity, outside of continuity, involving several of my characters).

I've decided (nervously) to offer up all my characters for this, with two exceptions
1) The characters from The Woman in the Spare Room are off limits because I'm still writing the sequel.
2) Sophie from my Christmas series is off limits as a standalone/erotic MC, because I might have my own plot bunny to explore there. If you want to write her as a secondary character in a non-erotic role that's fine.

My conditions are that anyone who wants to write my characters them lets me know before, sends me a link to the story when it's finished and keeps to Actingup's excellent guidelines:

I’m not sure who I might offer in this thread yet, but I just want to put in a plea for anybody considering using other people’s characters- please do your research. Read all the stories where those characters appear. Spell their names correctly. Get inside their heads and their cultures. Treat them with the respect that you would give real people, rather than just a convenient set of organs to insert into an orgy. Do everything that you can to make the originating author happy with giving you their permission.
If anyone is interested I'd be happy to chat and help get into their heads.

Do any of your characters want to appear in porn? My story idea includes the character Ella Foxx from @VerbalAbuse, who is a porn director. She films a porn, which is a gangbang with two women and many men. She does this in a theater, where participants of the conference can watch the production like a spectator sport. Of course, the observers get turned on and start to mimic what is going on on the stage. Some even decide to get on stage as well and be filmed. So it is an orgy. Some others just comment. Does anyone want to see their characters participate? Also, if you like, feel free to include references to this event in your stories.

I feel bad saying it but that'd be pretty far out of character for them; I'll have to politely decline. I'd be interested to know what lead you to ask though.

I appreciate your consideration, thank you. And I'll take a look at your work out of personal curiosity.

I asked because the idea is far out for most characters. And last year, knowing what others were planning allowed cross-references, with a character in one story mentioning something happening in another story. I thought that was a lot of fun.

Going meta is very appealing and the point of the Con really. I've decided to lean into it heavily myself with a bunch of my character all getting together to riff on their "lives" and stories.

If it helps, I have Madison and Nate encounter a 17 foot tall penis ice sculpture.

Does anyone want to see their characters participate?
Sure. You can use any of mine in any way you'd like. You have complete carte blanche. I can provide details on any of them if you'd like although there's some information on them (most of my characters) in the second post on this thread. I do have some interesting characters that only show up in one or two stories, but they ARE main characters in those stories.

Sure, why not, I'll chime in and offer up the characters from my It Could Have Been Anyone series.

The main characters are Alicia, early thirties, long brown hair and an athletic build, and her boyfriend Ben, late twenties, short curly black hair, lean build. Their sex life was very vanilla and conventional until Alicia discovered a fetish for sex while blindfolded, in particular with anonymous partners, and by the end of the series she'd do almost anything with anyone as long as there's something mysterious about it. Ben enjoys putting her in situations where she can explore that fetish in relatively responsible ways.

Several side characters may also be interesting, including Gene and Vivian, the couple who hosts the swingers' parties where a lot of the action takes place. Gene considers himself bi. Vivian doesn't, but will fool around with women now and then at their parties. Gene has a similar build to Ben (the series kicks off with a Halloween costume switch) but Vivian is shorter, just a little over 5 feet, and has a curvy hourglass figure.

Do what you want with them, but I plan to go back to the series someday, so if someone else's version doesn't end with those two couples still happily together, there could be continuity problems. I thought of Vivian as clinical therapist but it never appeared on the page, as it were, so if a reader thinks it would make more sense for Gene or one of the other side characters, I can't say you're wrong. Just writing this makes me think of other headcanon I had I didn't get around to developing in the main plot. Maybe this will get me back to them...
