30 Poems in 30 Days (Redux)

A crescendo of rain in the trees brings
a rhapsody of drenched autumn leaves,
but the branches independent as ever
only respond with rocking and rolling.

I'm baking my recipe which
never turns out the same,
sometimes it's even a complete disaster.
A large dash of sauce and quite a bit of pepper,
A pinch of sea salt, powdered mustard.
English of course! Preferably Colman's
Blending in a metaphor or two
adding a euphemism for spice.
with enough sarcasm (not too much)
to leave them wondering what was in that bite?
Mustn't forget the punctuation!!
Then it's kneaded within an inch of it's life
before leaving to prove and double in size.

I am busy,
some would say doing nothing
but it wouldn't be true because I'm busy adjusting.
Yes still adjusting to this new me, far from
the one who abseiled down tall buildings for charity
and got such a hit of adrenalin
that I was on a high for hours afterwards.
I understand now why those, that some
would call idiots, base jump from
tall buildings, I would if I could,
but not bungee jumping. That truly
is for idiots, and makes me cringe thinking
of my brain bashing around in it's cranium.
.
I'm adjusting to the one who climbed Mount Etna,
the year before it erupted again, right over where
we stood on the rim, laughing into the camera.
Then there's the me who zip lined through the trees,
was a crack shot at clay pigeon shooting,
galloped horses bare back along the beach
before plunging into the foam, holding on tight
to a mane, because I couldn't swim!
.
Yeah I still busy adjusting, writing it out in poetry
from the adjustable chair where I live.

Far above the clouds, where only eagles soared
we jumped. A step of faith, but wasn't that
our reason for going? A faith that we could make
a difference, putting ourselves down into
enemy territory, praying that some God looks down
with favour on those striving to protect an allegiance,
for everyone loses their innocence when they carry guns.

They gave Grandma a brand new hip,
to stop her creaks and grinds,
and now she's swinging with new youth
but not just the dancing kind.
.
The new youth that's she's swinging with,
is half of Jonathon and Stu,
the newly wedded couple
that once was Marge and Jules.

More magnificent in
stature
she tumbles water
over steep
cataracts
to crashing
crescendos
of
pure golden bliss,
only nudged
into life
in the dark forests
of Eve
in
the
land of Beyond
the big O.

It is my life,
now ridden with pain
and suffering,
shared with a man
who doesn't care
and yells and sneers
when I cry.
I can't live on memories
when my body swells
and friends only remember
when I was svelte
and beautiful,
Literally the leggy
belle of the ball,
prancing through their lives
affecting many.
Now all is bloat.
It's my life,
it should be mine to take.

Lockdown Long distant Lust!
.
Watching your tribute to me,
softly spoken erotic words urging you on,
until with a groan, there it is. My prize!

Don't know - 12

The loneliness of the long distant poet,
plodding onwards, unrewarded, unsung,
No destiny or finishing line in sight.

In my dreams
you caress me,
from my toes and all the way up
you discover me,
that between my toes is erogenous.
You search me
hands around each breast, both nipples thumbed.
You conquer me,
Spreading my thighs your lips descend to mine
until hips pushing up to meet your mouth
you enter me
and our journey rises up to heaven.

Heroines in Air Force Blue, working through the night
to keep your country safe from those that would, in stealth,
still attempt to steal your liberty and peace while you sleep.

Dedication is - begging a partner to
please, please, PLEASE shut up.
So you can write Haiku!.
.
Partner is - walking away muttering,
just audibly for AGES,
while you try to concentrate and not listen

The shuttered door blocks the sun,
but not the sound
of merrymaking in the distance.
Girls in native dress,
bare breasted beauties
cavorting and calling out for their loved ones
to join them in the dance.
.
I rose from my bed where I'd lain
recuperating these last few weeks
to follow the insistent beat
calling through the waving trees
down to the beach, and as I emerged
from the trees, innocence that had entered
the forest was gathered into their arms
and stood on trembling legs
until starting bare breasted too, I entered
through the healing movements
of magical dance the feast arranged
for the Queen not allowed to rule
as a Virgin.

I'm a Veteran, but you think with influence small,
my name was never written upon a hero's wall,
proud, I served my country, answering the call.

If I should die before the rest of you
Weep if you must,
Parting is such hell.
But life goes on,
So sing as well.

One day when searching through
ancient, browned paper work,
a girl will find something to momentarily
catch her eye, and call back over a shoulder
to someone rummaging in another room,
that this must be Great, great Aunt Annie's
stash of long lost poetry, and sits down to read,
all the time wondering if it's worth saving.

We leave no footprints you and I,
nothing to follow, except when
once proclaiming my love and chastised,
crept away into the place of hurting.
For my love is not allowed out of secret,
and Sundays are never mine.

They say I'm in the Winter of my life, and yes it's true,
the many years of snow build drifts behind my back,
sparkling where the sun catches the edges before my twilight.

I Don't know - 22

It's like having an early Christmas,
finding articles tucked away down the side
of the chair/settee! earlier in the day

There's lots of things Annie wants
and she wants them every day.
She's tried a few that made her smile
like flashing men, Hurray!
So this New Years resolution
is to work on through the list,
starting now I'm stripping off
stood at my window getting pissed.
.
*I do hope getting pissed means the same in other countries as it does here!

Your questing fingers research my meridian lines
of East and West, from nipple to nipple
and all points in-between, until they meet.

It makes me so angry when another's anger
is based upon ignorance of the facts,
yet unwilling to learn what I could so easily
change if they would only listen.
Just because I bred some of the most beautiful
puppies from cossetted mothers, in my spare
bedroom does not make me a cruel backstreet
breeder leaving them to lie in their own mire.
But no she won't hear that I slept beside
the birthing mother, bringing the pups into the
world with my own hands, mouth to baby mouth ,
rescuing with my own breath those struggling
for their first gasp. No she hears none of that,
all she hears is I bred puppies and I am crap.

After the bombardment the once open sky
went through a mx, a rainbow of colours,
finally settling it seemed for a glowing citrus.
.
We few that were left, in our many multitudes
of shapes and oddly sized, some twos and fours,
grew used to the bathing, all embracing lemon hues .
.
Country by country they had destroyed all who retaliated,
but we were not built for anything like wars,
were left only to our fate and suffer the constant fallout.
.
Clouds drifting across the moulding skies, corrosive ,
sinking all before them, until rooves became floors
solidified by the foul acidic rains, all later falling.
.
And so first animals born into a world no longer ours,
produced a new race, here now but still in scores
higher intelligence starting again upon our yellow shores.
