Grilam the Black

OOC: I'm not abusing your weight. I'm abusing your natural ability to float on water. I kicked you through the water, so technicially, since you were unconscious, you would move rather slowly, floating just on the surface of the waist-depth liquid.

But, hey, you wanna get angry, fine. Go ahead and drown with me, see if I care...

IC:

The heat of the water was becoming painful. The wyrm, driven on by the presence of a Fire Elemental, continued to move into the water. It's weight was driving the water level upwards, and its heat was making it begin to boil. The water Imps were struggling against the heat and Grilam's thrashing.

He knbew it wouldn't last much longer. He'd eirler be boiled alive, or he'd drown. He lost control, and the air from his lungs burst from his mouth, and bubbles headed towards the surface, heralding the end...

Lord

ooc: im not mad ;-) as a matter of fazct im typing all this with a smile :p its just funny how er nm ;p

Denoitnem:

With the Leviathan occupied, I wade into the water. At knee depth, I encase the wand in a fire spell and dive forward.

When I emerge from the water, I see Lord bounce across the surface and land at Sorian's feet as Sorian chases away the Imp.

Turning, Sorian looks at Lord and giggles and then runs into the water, tackling the Imp. Only then do I realize that the Imp in the water had been holding down Grilam.

My wand extended forward, I call to Sorain, "Watch out!" as a bold of lightening extends into the water imp.

The water is very hot and I notice the fyrewyrm crawling into it, despite his suffering. I hurry to Grilam and hold my hand out to help him up.

Grilam the Black

He was saved! He would have given his thanks, but was too busy breathing. His hands on his knees, propping him up, was in fact, the only thing propping him up.

He looked in each direction. "We're doomed."

Not a helpful message, but it seemed likely enough...

Denoitnem:

I help Grilam to his feet and he begins to recover: breathing heavily. Ahead of us, the fyrewyrm continues into the water: boiling the water and harming himself.

"Grilam," I apologize, "I hate to do this. But, alas, we must survive."

With a flick of my wrist, the fyre elemental grabs the Leviathan and throws it at the fyrewyrm. The fyrewyrm sees the object and tries to eat it, grabbing the Leviathan from the air.

They each begin to melt in the other's presence. With the threat dying, the fyre elemental fades away.

"Hurry, we must continue toward the haze!" I slosh out of the water and hope the others will follow--though I'm not sure where I am headed.

Grilam the Black

He followed, pausing a moment to look at the remains of the two creatures. Mere bones remained. He sighed, and continued. Not three feet beyond, the tunnel sloped up, and they were free from the water.

Hearing a sloshing sound from behind, Grilam turned quickly, rtetreiving his wand, which continued casting the light around the tunnel. It was Oynx.

The golem looked the same as always, and stepped past the wizards, once again taking point, and leading them deeper into the caverns.

Grilam quickened his pace, waking alongside Denoitnem. "I understand. Sir, we must ready ourselves. It will take a powerful spell, combining all our forces to protect us as we near the haze. Have you any suggestions? I am not sure if a sheilding spell or a mass holding spell would be in order, or possibly another spell would suit our purposes?"

Denoitnem:

Grilam asks a serious question.

"Since Lord has such wonderful skills with water spells, and Sorian controls earth, we could use any number of shield spells. However, your powerful dark spells and my mastery of fyre should allow us to make a holding spell of a great measure.

"Instead of limiting our spell to two elements, let us combine the four and create a Rainbow spell of 'drolyag'. Does that sound like a good name to you?" A nod suffices and I begin to think about how this spell must be created.

Explaining my plan, the four of us huddle together by the cave wall.

"Ready?"

Lord

Nods happen

Lord yells out "Hey i got it! we could be first layer as a wall of water or fire, than a tunnel of darkness, than the fire or the water than an earth wall! Mite work perfectly!

Grilam the Black

OOC: Now, I'll except specialized wizards, but you're acting like every spell has to be an elemental one. Grilam uses Life magic, not 'Dark' magic. It was the 'Dark Arts' because it was a type of spells were...less popular. I mean, why not just combine a sheild spell, instead of wracking everyone's brains at how to combine these.

IC:

Grilam shrugged, and Oynx merely stood watch at the Dark Wizard's back. Complicating things if you asked him, a simple sheid spell with all their power behind it would do,...But,...

He was the high wizard. If he wanted to do it the hard way,...it was fine with him. He simply hoped that the haze didn't pose too much of a threat...

Or the power they were using now would come back to bite them in the ass.

Denoitnem:

I listen to Lord's idea and agree with him. He's pretty bright for a wee lad.

"I do like your idea, Lord; but, I must point something out. Perhaps my bias gets in the way, but I always refer to Grilam as a dark wizard. In fact, his true power lies in life. If we had a wizard of light, perhaps your idea would work."

I ponder the situation intensly. "Okay, Grilam I admit you're right--a shielding spell will have to do."

I spread my arms as we form a circle and point at the middle of the group, "There!" We begin to concentrate our energy to create a shield centered on the group. In the monumental words of someone great, "Hocus pocus!"

The spell creates a wonderful shield around us. "Grilam, let us press on. Take point, if you will, dear friend."

Grilam the Black

He moved forward, into the main cavern. It was a huge, smooth dome, and the floor dipped slightly. Monsters crowded the place.

They pushed through, and monsters were pushed away as they attacked. Grilam stopped just short of touching the sheild to the haze, and Oynx kept the monsters out of their vision.

The haze turned out to be a thirteen foot tall representation of a person cloaked in a robe. Red eyes glared down at them. "Ahh, Grilam. I am glad to see you brought them to us. They will die a most horrid death."

It then threw back it's head, laughing evilly. Grilam turned, and saw doubtin his companions eyes. He started to stutter. "I-It-It's n-no-not t-t-t-rue!"

Lord

Lord listens with horror as his eyes widen. He stares at Grilam and starts to ask "Whats oging to happen?" but it wont come out. He bites his lip and stares at the Haze. He hears in a distant noise Denoitnem voice yelling "SET UP THE SHIELD!" Lord adds his power to the shield and now the shield squirts out water at enemies, as poisonous water, as if it was everyones weakness. Even the water enemies were harmed by this poisonous water becuz they were not under the spell and becuz they were not so hard. Lord raised his wooden wand and pointed it at the haze, he started saying a spell "Ba-Ha-me--------" he stoped in mid track the haze looked at Lord and instantly Lord dropped his wand and dropoped to his knees crying in pain

Denoitnem:

From under my robe, a falcon launches back the way we came. She heads back to the the Wizard's banquet, searching for Glaferin, with a note for him.

I turn to face the haze with my companions. Suddenly, the haze booms out a suggestion--Grilam should not be trusted?

Although I find it hard to concentrate with the humming noise buzzing in my ears, I hold my wand strong with the shield, hoping the others can continue to add their strength to it.

I look ahead to Grilam. He is putting his back into holding up the front--I doubt the haze. To my left, Lord puts his all into the walls until they leak water. On my right, Sorian is holding his wand out: but it is getting shaky.

I whip my head back to the left to see Lord collapse with pain. Back to the right, I watch a lightning bolt strike Sorian unconscious. I step next to Grilam, putting my all into holding our defense.

"Grilam, what can we do but try to destroy it?"

NOTE TO GLAFERIN:

Old chap,

We could use your handiwork right about now. The four of us are in need of your assistance. In other words: help!

My lovely falcon can tell you where we are.

Please do hurry and bring all your power--and a Martini for me.

With desperation,
--Denoitnem

Grilam the Black

He stared. Nothing should be able to get through the sheild! He was visibly shaking as he looked at Denoitnem. He didn't say a word, couldn't. He was too frightened.

Behind him, Oynx was caught in a struggle for survival. The great golem was thrown, and crashed behind the party. Grilam's eyes were drawn immediately to it as the monsters leapt upon it.

Oynx? No. Grilam shook his head, and let the sheild go. Without his power, Denoitnem held the sheild over the two prone wizards. "Run."

He turned, and raised his wand towards the haze, summoning all his power. Monsters charged, but Grilam knew how to get them using the least amount of power. He faced the haze alone, and they looked eye to eye. "And what, perchance, can you do to a thing that is not alive?"

Grilam grinned. "I can make it live. And any living thing can die."

Power flowed from the wand tip into the haze. A brilliant flash of light filled the area. When it was gone, the last of the monsters were fleeing the flash. Most monsters because of the light, but the lava creatures because of its departure.

Grilam lay on the floor, wand clutched in a death grip, only the rise and fall of his chest showing he still lived. And the haze?

Thirteen feet tall, cloaked in a drab grey, it stood. A pit of darkness with two glowing embers showed only where a face should be. It raised its hands, and the sleeves fell away, revealing skeletal digits. It looked at Denoitnem.

"So I live. Seperate from my creator and master. And once I have killed you three, I shall be his greatest servant. You shall die now." It raised a dead hand as if to throw a spell, but nothing happened. It raised the hand, staring at it. For it had no power as its creator had. "No matter. I shall crush you to death, little man."

Lord

In his concious state, he thinks for a while BAM! it hits him, he wakes up and looks at the Haze. He thinks......he yells "Look at it carefully, study it, u will soon find a weakness" "I HEARD THIS IN MY UNCONCIOUS STATE! Use it as advice!!!" The haze steps toward Grilam and Lord pulls out a dagger and chucks it at the Haze. It goes right thru him and everyone suddenly realises, even if he were to step on Grilam his foot would only go right thru.

The Evil Haze Thingy

OOC: *sigh* Of course, it's still air, even those I made it a solid, living thing. Why not? That's only a contradiction. You know, I made this line of events happen for a reason. It's big, it's scary, and it's defenceless to magic. It was something we could capture and question. But, that's not complex enough for you, is it? Let's just screw things up so we don't get any answers and the plot doesn't develop, just because you have some hero complex... And let's not forget that it was going after Denoitnem and not Grilam, as stated. Oh well. Now we have to GO THROUGH THE ENTIRE THING AGAIN! so we can get some answers! Because we can't just make someone up since knowing that information would have been able to give us knowledge at the begining, which means it can't really happen.

IC:

The paradox in the Haze-Creature's existence caused it to become unglued in reality, and it was completely destroyed. Thus, the wizards were left in the cavern with a very battered golem. The Golem got to it's feet and looked around the empty room. It checked the deep gashes that were new in its latticework of scars, and picked up the two wizards who didn't miraculously pop back up, and carried them from the room towards the elevating room.

And the wizards were back at square one, with no new information about the haze except it was an unknown wizarding force at work. Back to square one...

Lord

ooc: >:O me so stupid ;/ sorry i screwed up want me to delete post?

Glaferin

Ooc: Sorry chaps, been out of town with a now non functioning Laptop, so had to wait till I returned to my old trusty and faithful desktop to rejoin the party.

Ic: The falcon found Glaferin all right, head down in a barrel of mead. I had casted a spell of waterbreathing before I started to drink earlier that night just in case I passed out in the drink again. Alighting on my head the falcon proceeded to peck my skull till I awoke with a curse and an unsteady swing at the falcon.

"Godsdamn you bird!" I yell as I fall over onto the floor, landing on my chest the bird eyes me. "Alright, so you have a message in your claws from Denoitnem, so?" I say crossly. Sighing I take the message and aftering trying to read it with my extremely blurry vision I mumble a sober spell. Looking at the message again I start cursing. Getting up and shooing away the falcon I snap my fingers and arrive at my tower...

Lord

Lord wakes up and stares around... he looks and looks and seems everything is silent...

Grilam the Black

OOC: Lord, you've already woken up. You can't wake up a second time. Stop trying to give me an even bigger headache...

IC:

Oynx carried the two unconscious wizards back through the tunnels, Denoitnem and Lord following. The golem trudged back to the room where they could again ascend back into Grilam's tower, if the proper spell was cast, and set the wizards down on the floor.

The large golem then turned, and wandered down a side passage, and out of sight, leaving the four magic users alone.

ooc: no i just felt like typing that becuz no one was talking :p and as u have already made it into a living thing..... ill post next time :p

OOC: Sorry... had an emergency

Denoitnem:

Following the golem, I keep guard at the rear of our procession. At the end of the hall, Onyx places the two unconscious wizards on the floor and heads away. I fumble around in my cape, looking for my memory.

"There it is," I exclaim to the cavern wall. I recite the words that Grilam used earlier and watch as the ceiling falls. Instead of caving in, the large platform falls as if it were an autumn leaf, landing genly on the cave floor. I roll the wizards onto it and follow. With some more words, we begin to plummet upwards--if it could be done.

Back within Grilam's property, I begin to extract such items as essence of air and slap of hand. With my grueling work, I find a way to awaken the wizards--namely, splash of water.

"Welcome back to consciousness, my dear chaps. Alas, it seems we need some help if we are to return to fighting."

Grilam the Black

He grumbled, muttered something about "just five more minutes," turned over, and fell back to sleep.

Denoitnem:

I violently shake Grilam, remembering how I never would wake up for Magic Academy. I pull Lord up and look at Sorian, "Do you believe these two?"

Grilam the Black

He was being shakened. He yawned, and opened his eyes, looking around. Then, he heard Denoitnem say, "Do you believe these two?"

Something must be wrond with his head. That didn't make a whit of sense. "Who the what now?"
