A Gallery: Delights & Splendors of Cascadia

Last night the Quileute tribe concluded the celebration of their tribal cultural heritage and modern lifestyle in a massive, beautiful way. After all of the wonderful festivities over the multiple day event, they put on a fantastic display of fireworks. This was taken from I Rialto Beach @ the Hole in the Wall.

Such lovely pictures as always. I often wonder where footprints in the sand lead on deserted and tranquil beaches. There is a story to be written about that one of these days.

Well, it's definitely prettier than anything I saw on my last trip to Oregon. Mind you, most of that was spent in a FedEx office north of Portland...
Surprisingly, I have no scenic vistas taken fro. The FedEx office in the Portland area. Maybe I should look into that? 🤣😜

Waxwings are lovely. I've never actually seen one in person, as they only come here in the winter and then only in certain areas of the country.

Interestingly, manzanita means little apple in Spanish, however, I'm pretty sure that it refers to a tree or shrub in the US. It's an intriguing name for a beach.

Manzanita is a native coastal tree here with a reddish bark. I'll post a pic
Manzanita beach is part of the city/town of Manzanita, ORScreenshot_20220719-160604_Chrome.jpg

Next time you are there...if it is spring time...drive the scenic route of the Gorge. It will be waterfall after waterfall. Seriously...you can easily catch 25 to 30 BIG falls...and if you want to hike in...holy shit it is pretty. These are less than 30 minutes from downtown.

If you are there in the summer...go up Mount Hood. Or if you have more time and want the shore...Cape Perpetua or Lookout is nice. Decent tide pools. Just looking for a pleasant time...Pacific City/Nescowin.

If you are there in winter...and have time...Hoh forest on coast of Washington. It is about 3 hours from Portland one way...but you will never see anything like it. It is God's vacation.

Don't get me wrong...there are hundreds of nice beaches. All public accessed. I love Ona Beach cause that's where I lived and where my daughter was born. But what I have highlighted here gives you dozens of choices at each
