A Gallery: Delights & Splendors of Cascadia

I guess hell froze over again
Actually, a multi decade effort to protect individual eagles, nests, and eagle populations required under the Endangered Species Act (enacted under the Nixon administration) has resulted in a successful population rebound.

Science!

Edit: apparently I can be dense to pop culture humor... MG was making a reference to the Eagles Band getting back together.
Context matters.... no offense taken.

That is truly spectacular. I can see why you love it so much. I do too.

I never knew that Bald Eagles would gather in a flock like this. I've learnt something new :) .
It's possible some of those eagles are related, one is a juvenile. They can behave like scavengers and all show up for some great eating opportunity. There are also places where eagles gather seasonally. Skagit River is one place in Washington where during the winter there will be over 100 eagles at times.

That's a lot of eagles in one place. It must be quite a spectacular sight to see them all together there.

When the salmon run, you can go around a curve on the road and come across 50-60 birds. When I lived there I took it for granted and never stopped to take a picture. Never expected to leave. I was stupid

You just gotta make your way back....

There was a Chulily Glass Exhibit in Columbus, OH for many years. I never got to see it in person.
There is a lot of glass to see in Tacoma... home of Chihuli. I recommend especially the Glass Museum which showcases a fabulous range of glass artists from around the world and has a hot shop where the public can view live demonstrations of glass work.
